Good article and interview. We seem to be getting some info about reasons for some of the injuries now.

It's interesting that he brings up the pitch surfaces.  I spent a bit of time chatting to the guy who designed them, a PhD level sports surface consultant, he was enjoying watching the players training and wanted to get their feedback.  Personally I was just amazed at the level of detail that goes into planning, what is in essence, some grass...

Probably not advisable to have him look at your lawn. We’re talking about someone that went to Uni for seven-or-so years and came away with a PhD in grass. He’s more likely to just roll it up and smoke it!
