Can see a phone call to Costello happening here to bring in McHenry but what’s the Edinburgh link? Unless we’ve just been ringing around.

Thought if it was only for three games and if Cruse is back it will just be to hold tackle bags as travelling reserve I would have thought a championship signing or the player coach from Mosley would have been easier - maybe championship sides are reluctant to loan anyone at this stage

Given the rate at which we are losing players to injury/suspension (particularly in positions we’re already threadbare in) and the teams we’re playing in the next few fixtures, it makes sense to sign players from ‘top tier’ clubs.

The statement clearly states McHenry is covering for Fekitoa so I imagine he’ll be around until the New Year at least. Harrison could be for a substantially shorter period.

Good news and welcome to Wasps fellas.

A relatively low profile replacement hooker suggests Tom Cruse is good to go on Saturday doesn’t it???

Maybe, but Cruse was very low profile when we signed him too

TBF they add some good options. Maybe they are being eyed up for future recruits?

That is a strong possibility.

I mean I am completely shooting from the hip but I would suspect that McHenry is Fekitoa cover for when he's away with Tonga too and that he's out until Christmas. He's 6ft 2 and 95kg so a little light maybe but offers good option. I'd reckon Costello probably has seen something that Blackett might like because we have links with him.

Patrick Harrison is 5ft 10 but 111kg and was the youngest hooker in Edinburgh history and 3rd youngest in PRO14 history. Must be a fairly useful talent.

So we now have the following available

HKR: Frost, Eckersley (Harrison)

Second Row: Stooke, Fifita, Cardall, De Chaves

Centre: Gopps, Le Booj, Simmonds, McHenry

A little more cover than we had before.

I wonder if either (or both) will appear this weekend? Hooker possibly more likely, but he would have to learn some of line-out calls pretty quickly.
