Let's hope they restrain his enthusiasm for a bit. Steadily reintroduced please.
Let me tell you something cucumber

I think his enthusiasm will need to be curbed until he gets back to 100% match fitness. Great news though. If we can stick around 50/50 with our results until year end, then with most of the big guns back for the new year, it promises to be an exciting time.

Quote
"He's an emotional character and he just wants to play rugby, that's all he wants to do," he said. "When he doesn't play rugby, when things aren't going his way, he gets so frustrated, he just wants to be out there and playing.

"He is someone you don't go and speak too much rugby to while he is injured, because, actually, he misses it that much. You're best keeping him a little bit distracted away from it. Not forcing him to come to meetings. Just keep his focus on recovery.

"He will be massively excited. He's probably a couple of weeks away. He will come and knock on the door and say he is available this weekend, but that's Alfie."

I think we can file that under: "Nice problem to have".

Seriously though, how do you get someone like that to curb their enthusiasm a bit so they don't do themselves more damage?

Some interesting comments about lifestyle changes and a better body shape coming back presumably aimed to adjust to the demands of top flight Senior rugby, could also be reining in his natural enthusiasm.

Exciting news.

I understand the concern he might wish to return before he is ready but hopefully we see him on the bench when the league fixtures resume on 4th December.

Excellent news.

The lad has had to battle through quite a bit. He’s suffered 3 separate (and serious) injuries; a syndesmosis injury in January, a fractured cheek & eye socket in June and then a hamstring injury in September. Coincidentally or not 2 of the 3 were in training. And that’s before you even consider his previous injuries and missing a final due to contact-tracing protocols.
