The Shields intercept may well have been an offside working for us, so it's the same for both.

This would be true if he wasn't clearly onside.

One thing I will say, if Austin is going to be the TMO for more games going forward we need to get into his good books somehow.

It's like someone deflated our balloon at half time.

I agree, the players we have on the pitch have no energy.

That was inevitable.

A much needed break now, there was a lot of empty tanks at the end.

Well if spirited losses had any value we'd be well set.

How many more to add to the injured list this week? 🤕

That was a fair result and reflected just how short we were of players. Quins deserved that. No arguments from me about anything. Given our injuries, fourth from bottom seems about right. Can't wait for the 'break', but do wonder how we are going to field a team in the cup.

I agree, the players we have on the pitch have no energy.

Its almost like the players that are "ours" have been played into the ground due to the injuries and the ones that are on loan aren't up to it fitness and physicality wise.

Must say, we've struggled to get a 90/10 this half, let alone a 50/50. Barnes needs to join Nigel and Poite in the retirement arm chair.

The sides we put out over the next few weeks could be very interesting.

I disagree. Barnes was fair, we just made so many, many errors. Our front row was not up to the task, and thus every scrum was going to be a penalty.

Yeah I don't think Barnes is to blame today.

First half was fantastic but we couldn't maintain it. Second half we kept making daft mistakes and looked absolutely gassed in some cases. Nearchou definitely not ready for this level yet, but he will get better. Just optimizes our lack of depth ATM given injury crisis. Quins looking like they could've gone for another 20 mins.

Injuries-> no rotation-> using knackered players or players not up to fitness -> poor performances.

Unless it's revealed we're doing something fundamentally wrong that's causing an injury crisis, there's nothing we can do.

Forget the premiership cup play youngster and loanees and players coming back to fitness. The main players need a rest. Two things I’ve mentioned before and It was obvious again today, Marcus Watson is a sevens player and GTA just isn’t a premiership prop, his scrummaging just isn’t good enough he gives away multiple penalties every match

I think if we’d gone in 23-0 up we’d have won. Some immense performances from the loose five but we were stuffed up front and just ran out of gas. Thought we had a couple of chances to offload and didn’t. Second half fatigue bought mistakes. Barnes is an enigma. But I can’t accept his reluctance to apply the actual laws.

Have to admit from my stand view that I don't think Barnes was especially fair, he seemed to ignore some blatant offsides and then not, which is sort of his trademark, and we got the worse end of those decisions as we spent most of the second defending. He certainly copped for a bit of stick, not that it means much.

At scrum time I much prefer the SH approach, one bite at winning the pen, ball available use it. That does not alter the fact that our scrum creaked,of course, but Quins were over rewarded for it.
