Apparently one of his falling outs with Eddue was on what was a team day off he was heading out to watch his son play for Middlesex when Eddie challenged him about where he was going when there was work to be done.

As a Middlesex fan, I wouldn't begrudge anyone preventing me from going to watch them play based on the past five seasons!

Unfortunately for England, John's son can certainly bat.
