There’s some great play there. Eckersley involved a lot, Fisilau carries well twice, Monye giving quick ball and Matthews orchestrating things well.
Know the second half wouldn’t have been much fun for those lads but those were some great phases out together.

Initial reaction on Saturday - Eckersley stood out. He walked onto the field as if he owned it.  100% success with the throw ins.  Somehow the Wasp team seemed to tighten up and improve.  I hope he is signed up;  he could well have a good future.

Noticed Eckersley’s originally from Chesham, my wife’s home town.

Not sure if anybody remembers him but I recall meeting a family friend called Mike Patterson who played for Sale, then Wasps at No 8 (way before Dallaglio) but he also lived in Chesham.

So the young man has some good shoes to follow.

Small world - was my wife's home town too, and I also lived there for a few years while I played at Wasps.
