What's the rule on HIA's?

When does a player have to go for an HIA?

If there's a head on head collision leading to a red card, shouldn't both players be assessed?

Similarly, shouldn't Alfie have been assessed following his head collision leading to their yellow?

I don't believe there is a law on HIAs, it is left to the expertise of the team and independent medics.

I thought Alfie was out for a brief period. Bounced to his feet rapidly though.

Don't they have an independent doctor watching and he makes the decision?

Amazed Alfie didn't go off. He really should have had 10 minutes and an HIA

We were worrying about Frostie (I think) who at times looked unsteady at end of game after getting crunched.

Could just have been out on feet after yet another superhuman effort.

Were the officials seriously remiss not to review that one?

Agreed. Easy to want them to stop on in the heat of the game but Barbeary surely had to go off for an assessment and probably Frost.

I thought the whole idea was that it was taken away from the player or the club to make the decision as there's often a conflict of interest

Fairly sure it's independent medics and they will re watch footage to be sure. Obviously they were satisfied.
