TRP - No Wasps Rumours
« on: January 23, 2022, 08:05:49 AM »
Hughes to Irish the only related item.

Article on Alfie being ready to rumble for Eddie - oh dear.

March preview - Wasps working on their tackle technique for French Refs. Interesting comment that every refs report with colour coding whether a decision was right or wrong.

Piece about Wasps donating to Malakai's fundme.

Poignant article on Tom Rees and Matt Tait based on a picture of one chasing the other.

As said elsewhere Mail saying Jimmy to Tigers almost done.

What’s the Matt Tait story? Always a big fan of his, did he go down the medical route aswell as know he also trained to be a pilot.
Big Tom Rees fan too

I guess looking at the Jimmy situation with a cold heart, the choice is keep him possibly for 1 more year on his substantial wages or use them to keep or attract some younger players as part of a longer term plan, potentially can't do both.

Not sure how player / coach salary if he got involved in that works within the salary cap.

This is exactly how I feel too.
He's gotta be on big money and we're always talking about resting him.

Obviously a great player for us and other clubs, but great players don't necessarily make great coaches.
He has quite a unique kicking style would that limit he's ability to be a kicking coach.

Tough decisions all round - glad I'm not making them

Think I remember reading  recently ( around tigers investigation) that player/ coach salary would be treated as all player to avoid ambiguity. Guess it makes sense , otherwise you could potentially have 40 odd coaches and physios . Plus don’t forget waterboy fees.

Apart from it being sad (but not detrimental) for us I just find it a really odd move for Leicester.

Seconded. Jimmy will be 39 next season. Just what do Tigers want him for?
