Agreed. When one of the biggest names on the field of play is the ref , you start to wonder if he’s performing for the tv.

At least he doesn't get a TV appearance!

Wasn't it him that sent a player off for swearing recently?  The idea of a ref that won't take any stick from the loudmouths at Sarries quite appeals.

Yes ,the french player. Wonder how other nations view him , or indeed other English refs ? We seem to criticise french refs  style quite a bit.

The French reckon they are always hard done by with English Refs - especially WB!

Is that scheduled so far or at all? That's mad we will only be on it twice in the whole second half of the season.

As regards WB, I'm genuinely amazed that he's been allocated to one of the non-televised games.

Given the view of French Refs by us is that they don't officiate things properly (like the ruck!), it makes sense that the French would feel hard done by when being reffed by a British Ref who tend to officiate things a little stricter.

What is more annoying with upcoming matches is after the Bath home game on the 12th Feb we don't have a match at the CBS until the 26th March, 6 weeks later.
Wasps have been screwed over in the fixture schedule this year with this huge gap away from home with a bye week in the middle of it, and having their 1st bye week on week 1.

Man alive. Time for the Barnes show. Hope he gives the players a copy of his own personal law book.

I rate Barnes very highly. Lets the game flow, does not take any backchat better than any other ref, with the possible exception of the still active Luke Pearce and retired Nigel Owens (possibly the best ref the game has had).
I have no problem with him refereeing the game at all.
