So this is his 9th match and his 3rd time with Wasps? Why do we always get the trainees?

Fourth match with him. Of the three so far, won 2, including the home match against Bath in November 2019.

I don’t have a problem with bringing up and coming 2nd string refs on during the 6N and AIs, the game needs constant replenishment. They just need to make sure it’s the best that are coming through.

Slightly OT, where’s Sarah Cox?

I'm not saying he's a bad ref, just questioning why we are seen as the place for junior refs to learn. I know this is hugely biased of me but my feeling is we don't push the laws as far as some clubs. Does that make us easier to referee?

This will sound hugely disrespectful to Bath but I'm guessing that they've looked at our recent form and Bath's last outing and considered that it's not likely to be a close contest at which the referees performance will be under the microscope therefore a less experienced ref can be appointed. Those considered the better, more experienced referees will be appointed to the matches likely to be a tighter battle.

I hope they are right but also hope that we're not underestimating Bath in any way shape or form. Potential banana skin.

Thanks Sliminator & Roger. Good to hear she’s getting games.

Back on topic, I thought the ref had a reasonable game yesterday. No glaring howlers and he didn’t make it about himself.  The scrums were difficult to ref and he did a good job of getting the front rows to sort themselves out.

He worked well with TMO when needed but also didn't involve him uneccesarily when he and AR were confident the first Odogwu try was good.
