I was at the Sale game the year before the so called Pizzagate scandal sat amongst a load of Sale STHs (my mate borrowed one from one of that crowd who wasn't there) and they all sang Gaskell's praises to the rooftops. They were seriously tipping him for England. He's been unlucky with injuries and playing at a time when England have been blessed with a lot of good 2nd rowers but on form he's certainly there or thereabouts.
There's an Any Sting Goes podcast with him as guest that's worth a listen. He certainly works hard behind the scene on analysing opposition lineouts and drilling our own. I wonder if any of the recent success with our lineouts was anything to do with him having a lot of time on his hands?
