Va'aiga Tuigamala RIP - once a Wasp
« on: February 24, 2022, 11:07:36 AM »
Very sad the hear of the death of Va'aiga Tuigamala ‘Inga the winger’. He only made 13 appearances for Wasps right at the beginning of the pro era but made a great impact and impression. I remember an away win against Bath (very rare in those days) where he made a significant contribution.

Incredibly sad news.
I didn't follow Wasps when he played for us, however I did occasionally watch that great Wigan side

Very sad day - once a Wasp.....Showed what was possible and I only saw him play a few times - it was always exciting. RIP and all the best to his family and friends.

Unfortunately my only abiding memory of Inga was at Twickenham, playing for Falcons, against Wasps in the Tetley's Bitter cup which Wasps won 29-19. He got hunted down and thoroughly scragged by Josh Lewsey who looked very small beside him.

Remember watching him at Loftus Road.
It was an amazing (and unexpected) coup for Wasps to sign him and I remember the players talking about how he raised the level of professionalism in training.
It blew them away….and he left a lasting impression.

As he does today.
RIP Inga.
