Time for Barnes to take his leave?

Strange how we see things - I thought Barnes was fine today and don’t have any complaints, we were just poor. Give me Barnes over the likes of Woodthorpe any day.

During the game I thought Barnes managed a few off the ball/try scoring incidents well. It was a bad tempered affair at times and could have got out of hand.

Hodnett on the other hand can’t even get it right in slow motion..

Re the comment about Barnes resuming his legal career, there are many people in the UK and particularly in USA who qualify as lawyers but never do a day's legal work.  They still call themselves "lawyers".  Our Parliamanet is full of them. I don't know what legal practice Barnes had before he became a full time ref but due to the age at which he became a ref I would suspect not much.

as I said in a previous post, I think a lot of barnes' elvation to the rank of "top referre" came from his acquisition of celbrity stus on TV rahter than his quaity as a ref.  Never liked his referreeing or his style of doing it.
