Assuming 100% fitness, I still voted to start Dobby with Will on the bench, as form is temporary but class is permanent, . However, if it looks like Dan hasn't regained his mojo, then sub him asap. Anyhow, I'd take Dobby off around 50 mins unless he's having a blinder.

I recall Dan taking time to get back to his best after his thrombosis (?) injury a season or so ago.

He just needs a bit more game time.

I do wonder how much Dan's "England experience" has been negative - especially if the reports of England not training in combinations at all and that he never - until getting to play 10 vs Ireland last 6Ns - got much game time.

England pee'd him about in keeping him in the squad but not trusting him to play and never (hardly) start. At his best, he'd the equal of any 9 in the Prem - and it does seem that the England experience, now in the past, was an experience that still needs time to unravel.

Eddie seems to delight in messing up young players generally but Wasp players in particular  - Wade, Jacob,  Robbo  to name a few;   there are probably more.  He's been  doing it for years.  Why?  Who knows.

Speaking of messing up players, I’ll  never forgive EJ for what happened to Sam Jones on his watch. Completely ruined a player’s career!

Iceni,  I couldn't agree more.  The bright  spot is that Sam appears to have built a new, happy and rewarding new life  and every good wish to him.  Hooray.

Pretty good, Shugs. But I'd play Frannie (if fit) instead of Josh.

I would like to see our two Saffas - Nemo and Francois - in the mix.

Are you in a position to let us all, know what Sam has moved onto?

Yes, I’d forgotten Hougaard! I must admit it pained me not to put Carr’s name in - an absolutely fantastic player.

I remember reading a while ago that he had gone into the restaurant business with some success.  No idea quite how long ago this was, but I'm guessing it must have been before lockdowns hit the hospitality sector, so hopefully he came through that OK.

Edit:  Quick Google and it looks like he started the venture in 2019, so I'm sure he's had a tough couple of years, but still going strong.

I wouldn't pick any different starters. I think I'd have Gopperth on the bench rather than Miller, Jeff rather than Millar-Mills, and Fifita rather than Cardall. With Hougaard you could have a 6:2 split as he covers 9 and wing, but 9 is such a key position you want someone fresh coming on if there's a change - and Porter has earned a spot on the bench at the very least.

Given the players we have I think a 6:2 actually works really well for us.
