So he's going to be tired and expected to play 2 seasons back-to-back? He's going to need some managing so we're going to need the 2nd and 3rd string 12s to step up, whoever they are.

Not a good outcome. We really need him for pre-season. Remember Lima - he never made up the ground lost by a late arrival (whether he was able or not he had no chance) and this is much later.

Even when Lima had a full preseason, he never delivered what we had all hoped for.

Currie Cup doesn’t finish until early September I don’t think.
Wonder if Odendaal is already signed up for that

Think for the Lions its about showing they won't be pushed about in giving up their best players, more particularly to other SA franchises.

For me we can’t have a 12 next season who will not join us until October and therefore play consecutive seasons.

If we have to rely on mills being fit or MLB playing well that can’t surely be a good plan
