Coach v Director of Rugby

Interesting comment heard while watching Edinburgh v Newcastle it was said that Dave Walter is Newcastle's Head Coach whilst Dean Richards is DoR.  Not something I was aware of. We certainly do not have the number of coaches to allow that to happen but perhaps we should?

I think its been like that at the Falcons for the last 3 or 4 yrs.. Walder is the coach, Dean oversees everything. Its also like that at Glos. Ackermann is the head coach whilst Humphries is the DoR. DoR's have to meet the board and fill in all the spreadsheets, talk to the press (then  again, Ackermann does all the press interviews).

Its the same at Leinster.. Lancaster is head coach, sticking to what he knows best, Cullen speaks to the press and has to juggle the spreadsheets
