He won't be banned from any meaningful games and Ireland will still take him to the tournament even with no warm up games under his belt. He can have two warm up games at the world cup before Ireland face South Africa.

So on effect Referees are now considered "open season". He wasn't even a player just a pitch invader in a suit.

It really is about time, and I know it has been said many times, the rugby authorities got real with all punishments with no time off for good works or courses. A few having the book thrown at them will make the rest sit up and think  - maybe!!

I can't say I'm in the least bit surprised by this inexcusably lenient (non) punishment.

If he gets a three match ban, think something's very wrong when you can use friendlies to soak them up and take the field again in the very next competitive game. You may as well not impose any ban at all.

There's two parts of this that frustrate me-

1/ The punishment given to Sexton is completely at odds with the one given to Rassie Erasmus in 2021 after the Lions tour.
2/ How the punishment will be served and how the three warm-up games can be deemed as "meaningful".

Someone, somewhere, has clearly pulled strings..
