Reasons to be positive
« on: December 30, 2018, 07:43:10 PM »
While I'm not one for keeping resolutions, I think I need to take a more positive mindset in the future.

So, here's some reasons for a Wasps supporter to be positive

1. The club exists
2. We're not Quins fans
3. We've seen our team play some scintillating rugby recently
4. While things may not be panning out too well on the pitch right now, we have some of the nicest, honest and most honourable people involved in running the club.
5. Future club legends like Ashley Johnson are happy to re-sign for us
6. We have the ability to watch live sport in an amazing venue
7. We're not Quins fans
8. Wasps are still ahead of Leicester in the table

I'm afraid I don't, and this sounds like a football forum to me (i.e. bitter and aggressive).
I've met lots of lovely Quins fans over the years, including close friends of mine.
Rugby snobbery is never attractive.

“...bitter and aggressive ...” I didn’t read it as that. I came here because although this site is not perfect the atmosphere is more cordial than any other Wasps site I have visited. Long may it remain so.

You need to see deeper and with an open mind, Grasshopper. There is a missing apostrophe which would clarify the meaning. Quins' fans is different from Quins fans. The first denigrates that which they support not the supporters themselves. I pity all fans of other clubs as lost children in a wilderness of confusion. It is up to us to show them the light and guide them to the path of well being. Clear?

I was sort of hoping for a festive re-working of Ian Drury's Reasons to be Cheerful - Part 3.

It was meant to be purely jovial

My sister and brother in law are Quins fans, and despite all my efforts, I can't convert them.

They aren't horrible people, and I really like my nephew who is often kitted out in multi coloured quartered rugby shirts.

Having a go a Quins fans (twice, to emphasise its importance) simply for being Quins fans is not funny but just nasty IMHO.  I thought the purpose of this forum was to get away from childish cr*p like this.

Fair enough, and apologies for causing offence.

It was actually put in twice as an attempt to make it humourous

No need to apologise, if 1 of 10 found it offensive then its not offensive and says more about the person that was offended.

Tentative link, stretching things a bit, between Ian Dury and Wasps - Ian went to Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe, same as Wasps legends Tom Rees, Christian Wade and Matt Dawson.

Another genuine reason to be positive is the Instagram video posted by Jack Willis which shows that his recovery is going very well. When he's back

Willis - Shields - Young will be one hell of a back row, with Nemo to come on.
