As far as I can see Danny Care isn't there leaving only 2 scrumhalves in the squad so unless something drastic changes that means Dan will be, at the very least, on the bench?

Interesting to see Devoto in the squad as well

Only 2 scrummies (Youngs and Dan), Care dropped.

With my England hat on, am disappointed the new Harlequins 6 isn't in the squad

5 players picked. Does this mean more money for Wasps? I know the players get a fee but do the clubs get anything?
Let me tell you something cucumber

Each club receives "up to" £80k per player.. but not knowing that at the start of the season makes it difficult for clubs to plan

So, Saracens have 7 in the squad. For the moment, let's assume they'll get £80k for each of those players, that's an addition £560k, which is 1 world class superstar, or probably 3-5 3rd choice players.
We may have 5 in the squad, but until recently, it's been pretty much just Joe and Elliott, so at best, we get £160k

If Sarries have regularly been getting an additional £400k more than us, that's about 6% of the salary cap (the cap was £6.5million in 2016/17 when we would likely have just had 2 in the squad - maybe 3 with Haskell)

Saracens still do an amazing balancing act given the number of top players they have, but an extra £400k does go some way to explaining how it's possible.

I was just looking at the home grown (academy) credits rewards too.
Clubs now get up to £600k per year in home grown player credits, which presumably is based on the number of home grown products make it into the 1st team, and presumably based on how many minutes they play.

I've just a quick search and can't find a detailed breakdown on how this works, but I wouldn't be surprised if Saracens also regularly get somewhere in the region of £100k-£300k more than us in home grown credits too.

Along with the England elite squad allowance, it probably gives them about £600k per year more than us to work with.
If there's any truth in their players being happy to earn slightly less if it means they win trophies, even if it is an average of £10k per player across the top 30 players in the squad, that's still another £300k

So Robson in the squad two games after returning from injury. What did EJ see that he had missed before?

The best point on this topic I have seen.
Why the change of heart- an admission that two 9s + Wiggy is not enough, or that one of those choices is close to being not a choice?
