U18's match moved to Warwick School
« on: February 01, 2019, 03:36:57 PM »
The match was supposed to be played in Aylesbury, but, the weather being what it is, it has been moved to Warwick School, at 1:30PM

I'll be there.

Now all I need to do is to postpone a gym session (with Sarah). Piece of cake. I wonder where I would be allowed to park? Maybe I will come up on my bike.

Cracking match on the new all weather pitch. Wasps 50- 13 Saints. Some real talent in this young Wasps side, some of the players only 16 or 17. Alfie Barbeary especially, but also Ricky Ma'asi.

Yes, Ollie Monye is the nephew of Ugo.

But Ricky is the one to watch. Fast, agile, a big lad for a centre. Recall the surname? Maybe 36 times capped Tongan Viliami Ma’asi? I guess they must be related. Maybe father and son?

Some real Wasps stars of the future playing today.

I have to say that watching today's match was much better than freezing my man parts off at the Ricoh vs Leinster. The team were much better drilled and totally up for it. Next week vs Falcons at Broadstreet (Saturday 1:30PM KO). If they win that game, they are through to the semi's.

I was there with NWW.. we were both gobsmacked to see a school with a fully fledged 4g pitch... along with a lot of grass pitches.. artificial pitches for the the Girls school hockey teams

It was great to talk to some of the parents and grandparents who ferry their offspring around the country.. Some from Henley.. some from Cov..

I asked what they would hope for their boys and both sets said that they want to play for Wasps.

Apparently Wasps help out with Uni education  which is really good as well.

Ah, I see he is his youngest son. Begs the question where the other two are nowadays. Vili was there at the match I think. Not knowing who he was, I said Hi to him as he walked up to the pitch from the clubhouse. Which, BTW, is a super impressive clubhouse. Way better than I have seen at a club, let alone a school, in a long time. Money talks. Right next to the 6 lane 25m pool, which was packed with kids being taught to swim.

Just looking, it looks like the oldest son, Suva is at Peterbopough and Sonny (Samson I think is his real name) at Saints.

Really interesting, thanks for the update, what a result. It is great to read and fills me with hope that the flow of players is there for the next few years.
