I think it's about what kind of signings do we want?

Do we want to look for bums on seats players? If so, Savea in a heartbeat.

Do we to build for medium / long term success? If so, Savea may be a luxury that we can't afford

Do we want to build a large squad with salary cap space? If so, Savea is out of the question

I don't know what our strategy is at the moment with Lima, Fekitoa, JTA, Shields etc.
It's probably just sign anyone who is available and likely to improve the squad

Savea has been pretty average for Toulon but the whole team are in that category or less. Dai has said that we have not replaced Wade yet so could be a "nama" player for that position. Interesting the Fekitoa connection at Toulon.

You wonder whether a sacking like this is a complete surprise to a player or if with a short  bit of notice he could find a new "temporary" home.

Would fit as we seemed to have missed out on Naholo but I'm not enthralled by this after what I've seen of him at Toulon this season. His wife hasn't helped things off the field either!!

Irespective of wether we could afford him, does he our suit game plan, if we have one, or are we going to continue to bumble along?

You could ask the same question about Lima and Fekitoa.

Absolutely brutal by Toulon and their owner.
He has not been great but neither have Toulon. He has had an absolute lack of conditioning this year and put on weight, been played a bit in the centres and he is clearly not high on confidence.

With wade, Curtis and Mullan gone mid season and now injury dispensation money available for Billy (although appreciate Savea is not a like for like) we must have cap available.
I would go for it, but can imagine him just wanting to go back to NZ after this

To answer myself looking at the reports it seems a spur of the moment outburst. Probably been coming though. Why sign an AB winger and play him at centre. As we have known there is something very wrong in Toulon.
He would be a gamble but until the end of the season "trial" as our winger could work - or backfire!

In the past I'd have salivated at this, now...not to sure. He's been garbage but the entire team have, Fek included but agree, he is out of shape.

His wife is a bit of a media nightmare for sure.

Well, we could afford him as injury cover, as that is not in the cap, is it? It couldn't be much worse than having no Wade, which is where we are right now. If I was Dai, I would be talking to him.

IF he has been sacked he needs to find somewhere quick to make himself attractive to some team for next season. He needs to get somewhere to get himself fit for the same reason. Wasps possibly but on our terms not his or his wife's!

Just mentioned on Sky by Goode. Suggesting the coach knew nothing about it. It must be lovely working for a madman.
