That's a more than decent side regardless

Great to see Alex back

Will this be recorded/show sometime - sadly no way to get to the game?

That is a pretty strong team, surely a victory for us. I just need a win

There is a lot of potential in that team.  I'm thrilled to see Rieder back, as well as Chesty.  But I'm also pleased to see some of the Academy lads featuring.  I've heard good things about Spink...

Great news, good for him. That's a good looking team, if we can get through this season and next, things could really start to look good as the younger players come through.

This is realistically a game where the academy guys need to show what they're made of.

There's a number of senior players in that team, plus the best of our academy.
The likes of Sirker, Umaga, Jardine, Atta are often held up as players that should be given a chance in the senior squad.

The realistically isn't any excuse not to perform now because the players around them should be a cut above "A team" level

This is exactly how we should be using the A league but unfortunately have not been able to at times due to injuries throughout the squad.
Squad guys like Myall, MLB, Morris and Atkinson used with players coming back from injury with the youngsters who can learn from them in a more stable environment in a more even match up with the opposition.
Guys like Oghre, Cardall, Willis and spink will learn so much more playing alongside more experienced campaigners than if they were the experienced player alongside a loan player or an even younger guy. This has not happened in an A league for quite a while now.
Good to see spink back from injury and could be interesting to see Anderson at 15

What is most interesting for me is that Porter was seemingly picked ahead of Hampson against Glaws. Quite right too imo, if Hampson is off let’s start investing more in Porter. Again can be seen in this squad Oghre starts and captains ahead of the more experience TJ who is also probably off this summer

I agree Jonny, I'm not sure why Porter wouldn't start.

Maybe he is seen as the genuine backup to Simmo so poss injury risk?

That is a very good side - mix of squad players with 1st team exposure and the academy lads.

The competition for the 2 shirt will be very interesting over the next couple of season will be intense. Taylor, Cruse, Oghre, Barbeary.....

Is there not another A Team match later in the week? Possibly it will be all change for starters in that match - ie Porter to start. If I am right and there are two matches then it makes sense to break some in slowly.  Just looked at the Offy and it is V Leicester A on Saturday.
