Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re-signing 22/5
« on: May 22, 2020, 10:43:12 AM »
A blurred photo of what appears to be Lima is on Wasps’ twitter.

Looks like he’ll be the next contract announcement.

Great news if true as he’s been brilliant at 15 and believe Lee sees his long term future at Wasps there too.

As a fan normally based north of Coventry, I’ve not had to deal with this dilemma before, but with a year in London this year, I was wondering what travel plans people had to get from London to the Ricoh for the Salaries Game.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / OT- Christian Wade

Delighted to say he’s been awarded a Reserve/Future Contract.

Not entirely sure what it means but say Bills have a RB injury crisis in proportion with Wasps’ second row then Wadey can be brought into the main roster.

Brilliant news and happy that his big gamble is paying off, not sure Wadey will be fully satisfied until he plays in the NFL but definitely congratulations is in order.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Nakarawa

The Fijian superstar lock of Racing has just been sacked for returning late after World Cup duty.

We are short in that position and without Joe during the 6N we often look like we are short of quality.

If we are under the cap, is it possible that Dai is asking Derek for some extra funds spared from Garrett and Neal to add some real superstar ability alongside Joe?

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Lima
« on: December 02, 2019, 07:22:53 AM »
The social media legend he is, he’s just posted a message quashing the rumours and saying he’s here to stay. He’s a very talented player who needs things to go his way and I hope he can get back into the 15 on merit (or at least push Jacob to the next level trying to do so).

As a player who’s been more open than most in terms of form it’d be nice to keep this thread positive because he’s a lovely guy and is clearly helping others in the squad learn the tricks of the trade.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / 2nd Playmaker
« on: November 04, 2019, 09:47:35 AM »
Very early for transfer gossip but with the success of Jimmy’s return and his effect on Lima’s game at the weekend, think it’s pretty clear that we need a second playmaker at 12.

My question is in 2 parts:

1) Jimmy cannot play every game this season- who could do his job when he does not play?

2) At the end of the season, who could we sign long term to do that job?

Wasps Rugby Discussion / New Kit
« on: July 16, 2019, 01:11:39 PM »
Pudsey has said that we will be wearing the new away kit for the whole of the rugby 7s.

Feel like that suggests that the away kit will be a colour that isn’t copied by other clubs- maybe yellow?

Also means the release will be very soon

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Dobby’s Back!
« on: June 24, 2019, 08:07:11 PM »
About 22 seconds into the video of the England training squad, there’s a familiar face passing out the back of a ruck sporting a closer shaved haircut and compression sock on one leg. Very exciting to see that he’s back playing some proper rugby, albeit not so close to contact (yet!)

Vodaphone will be replacing Land Rover as main shirt sponsor and investing in 5G data facilities at the club.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / England’s Scrum Half Dilemma
« on: April 08, 2019, 12:54:38 PM »
Think it’s slipped under the radar somewhat, but Ben Youngs is out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury that’s had surgery.

I’ve heard he should make the World Cup but you never know.

With Dan out injured too and also no known return date, does Eddie’s scrum half system backfire?

With the 6 nations being (somewhat) successful due to Youngs’ kicking game, would his unavailability result in a new game plan being needed?

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Will Porter (+more young players?)
« on: March 23, 2019, 06:47:15 PM »
Dai said post match that he rates him a lot but says he will only improve if given game time. He then adds that a few younger players will start getting that game time.

Could we start seeing T Willis, Umaga and Porter off the bench every week?
