I missed the announcement of the law change that came into effect Jan 1st regarding there no longer being an offside line..Watching Sale v Quins we are seeing the effect of this change adopted by Sale.

Thats how you play rugby. Salaries out on their feet at the end having been outplayed everywhere and lucky to get the 7.
Justice.

Game changing decision not to go uncontested..Marler cannot play both sides, totally marmalised. Ibotye has a very bright future, wish our previous like came to fruition. Smith at 20 is exceptional.

Nakarawa on a short term deal.
Fanciful notion probably, not sure Neal and Garret money would free up enough to beat Sale to his signature. Probably the only quality lock available.

Be nice if Dai wasn't so diplomatic ...given how directly impacted we were with Daly.

Anyway, Salarycens been done to death already, time for Wasps stuff.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Bath Game Thread

My half time take away.
We should be well up, knock ons are absolutely killing us, at crucial moments too, Brad knocking on in what looked a certain try. Every time we get any momentum we knock on.
Sops off target, left 6 easy points out there.
Positives, we do look better with Gops, at last someone who can read the game and create something. The boys are putting in effort, that's for sure but the basics are lacking. Scrum has parity at least, arguably we have them there, line out decent.. I can see Mjnozzi causing problems later in the season.
I'm disappointing with the scoreboard but i'm more pleased with the performance thus far...the effort and energy are there.
One thing us Wasps fans have to accept this season is blatant yellows will not be given to our opposition...that said, this young ref has been good.

Doesn't get any easier..Bath at home then Sale and Chiefs both away.
We'll need to beat Bath before losing becomes a habit.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Premiership Season
« on: October 02, 2019, 05:08:43 PM »
Not much rugby news going on so am chucking a look ahead up to see what people are thinking for the Prem Season proper.

Recruitment has been strong in a couple of teams, notably Quins and Sale, with the latter bringing in half of SA. I suspect both will do pretty well this year, it wouldn't surprise me if both were top 4, especially given they lose virtually no one to RWC nor 6 nations, where other teams will be crippled by the rest protocols.
Which leads me onto the top 2, I do wonder whether this is the season that a new champion surfaces. Exeter don't have the depth that Sarries do and Sarries will lose the core of their team for the majority of the season. I can see one of Glaws, Sale or Quins taking either the top or second spot..or even both.
So thats top 5 sorted, with the middle pack of Bristol, Wasps, Bath, Tigers and Saints fighting it out closely. Bristol will improve, as will Saints, Tigers will have improved but might not kick on until they get their full compliment back. For me Bath, Wasps and Bristol could be in a fighting group, with Tigers, Worc and Irish having their own battle and Saints picking up the 6th spot, maybe battling with the end of the main group. That said, Irish have a stella paper team and Worc are no mugs on their day and won't be affected by internationals either, both could surprise.

Thats my thoughts on how the season looks to me..anyone disagree?

Tonga Vs Samoa.

Terrible conditions..utterly. One thing I note is that Wasps nutritionist will have his hand full with our new 8. I reckon he was been eating Tongan BBQ solidly since the end of the season.

Anyone would think Falcons were the away team, took them 30 mins to wake up

Going to miss Goneva next season, he's a magic player.
