Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Open training
« on: February 22, 2019, 09:48:32 AM »
My wife has taken my daughter whose 9th birthday it is today with a new shirt to get signed. I am at home with my lad who has broken his leg this week and is saving himself for the game tomorrow.

If there are no better sources on here, Will see what info I can get out of my wife and a massively over excited 9 year old when they get back!

Being as my lad has broken his leg this week might need the extra space!

Yes, assume it is based on him being here on short loan rather than anything else, with other TH Daniels rumour and if Brookes also stays would give us plenty of whatever the collective noun for tighthead is (a grunt?)

Would be controversial - another young 15 to stand in Umaga's way...

Will be away at 6 nations, world cup etc so plenty of chance for Jacob at 15 plus time at 12 if need be.

Very exciting signing, shows attacking intent.

My guess at 15 - Matteo Minozzi – Italy

Yep, would be my guess also. Signed for Zebre in the 2017-18 season, maybe for two years? Very young at 22.

Yes would agree, would imagine also good value for money in relation to freeing up salary cap space.

Yeah, it would take a bit more than a game.
Thinking back, Carr joined us mid season injury replacement, played in the development cup at Swansea, and was lighting up the prem in a couple of weeks. Different position of course, but it has been done.

Dan Carter about to try it at Racing, although he has been in their system before, and having watched French rugby recently not much structure to learn!

It may have taken a former all black 10 ages to adjust, but that won't mean it takes everyone ages to adjust.
Cipriani (sorry) walked into Glaws and they clicked in seconds. Ten is harder than most positions, sure, but some of our previous tens looked at home quite quickly after arriving.

Presumably even they, including cipriani, had some preseason time, not a week until the next game?

Everyone is saying how long it takes a former all black 10 to fit into the system so why would we bring in another new 10, umaga or other, now if only a handful of games until Gopps returns, would need to be someone familiar with the system as back up so seems like Miller or MLB although imagine both would be targeted in defence.

MLB can play 10, WLR started as a 10, anyone else who can be summarised in 3 initials?!

Great away win, good to dog out a tough away win, seems a positive camp at the moment, really important to back up at home to sale next week, best wishes to Billy Searle, not sure why i am writing like this, must be the nerves, or the red wine!

Who is the A Team back up? I know Rob can cover but we need more.

Le Bourgious can play 10, Recall Umaga? Or even WLR who started as a 10.

But that's for another day, dig in lads!

Morning.
Currently at work.
Year ten and eleven Chemistry all day.
Not sure the promise of sun will get my year eleven girls on field this lunchtime, GCSEs can really kill sports this time of year.

Travelling via train and meeting my dad in Bristol for this one. Haven't been to Bristol in years, bar Parkway. Cautiously optimistic. Season defining is over used, but the next four games are exactly that.

Two lots of year 10 chemistry for me followed by picking up the year 11 mock papers to mark over half term next week.

Think which WLR turns up will play a big part in defining the rest of our season.
