Wasps Rugby Discussion / Saracens
« Last post by backdoc on April 26, 2024, 09:59:58 PM »
I experienced the club from 96-07, and we are all aware that players like Horan, Lynagh, Sella, A Farrell, A Sanderson have contributed enormously to the game, whatever the status of their salary etc.

The player group from 09 onwards were involved in the extra salary house-buying schemes funded by the club owner's that ended in the scandal with fines and relegation.

This group of players are starting to move on from Saracens, either to retire or play elsewhere  for a year or two.

My plea is that these cheats are not acceptable as future media pundits to the TV or media audience.

I do not want Farrell Jr or Jamie George on my TV screen acting as though their career success was based solely on their talent.

I doubt there was much accidental about it.

He?s the accidental owner. I imagine he?s desperate for someone to take it off his hands.

The interesting thing for me is that the French clubs actually want English players. Given that they have quite strict rules on foreign players in each squad & all of the southern hemisphere to chose from I wonder if English players are relatively cheap compared to others & what that says about salaries in the prem!

The SH players are offered more closer to home in Japan. That is why English players are the new All Blacks vis-a-vis French teams. Ready made source over the channel to replace the one that has been diverted to Japan.

Sweeney is a t*at. Totally incompetent. Is there no mechanism by which he can be disposed of, within the RFU structures?

I'm just hoping that wherever Wasps  wind up they will be able to implement a Wasps TV, and then we can join in.

Basically, Atlas, who Holland helped buy Sixways & WW, have gone into a pre-packed administration. Leaving Loxwood (CH) and "the local business community" owning everything. Some nice words about bring elite rugby back to 6 ways & making the location profitable (and keeping employees employed). Also confirms that the RFU have been advised that WW want to join the second tier

Chinnor in the champ. next season just down the road from Wycombe, playing in Thame, blew away national 1 this season, had a look at their ground the other week, very basic,  reckon 2500 cap. mostly all standing around the pitch, still I think you can get a pie and a pint in the marquee, might have a look in next season, Tom Cruse is forwards coach.

Thanks for posting.  Little Wasps content but what there is is positive if linked to WW comeback possibilities.
