Let's get the potential pain started.
50 first half points at the Stoop. Pictures of Franklin Gdns show a superb running pitch.
Tibo starts for the Euro Champs tonight.
Really need the lads to function for the full match today. Let's hope one of our wingers shows a lot of interest in competing.
COYW please.
-
Good result for us at The Stoop. Wuss ahead v Leics. Points would be good.
-
C'mon Wuss.
-
Tigers have just got their noses in front :(
-
Great achievement by Waller, 300 games.
-
Penalties already
-
Well, Wasps have put that marker down, trying to give away one penalty per minute, and we will get stuffed if our muppets can't learn.
-
Prematch teamtalk and first minute tactics clearly went well
-
And, had they not scored, Oghre had, as usual, give a penalty away again.
-
Penalites, penalties. Makes you wonder what the coaches do in mid week?
-
Too many daft penalties! Would like some constancy in calling offside as well. Aside from the scrum, we are getting pushed around
-
Robson taking a quick penalty breaking one of my rules there and losing at least 20m. and, oh my, another penalty.
-
Can someone please clarify something for me? One hand on the ball and one hand on the grass in my eyes in not holding yours wait and a penalty offence and yet Lawes gets the penalty in his favour
-
Back level
-
Well done Robbo. 7 all.
-
14 - 7. Umaga yellow card -
-
14 12 Brad. Converted Charlie. 14 14.
-
14 - 7. Umaga yellow card -
I'm listening without commentary.
What was the yellow for? Was it for playing the ball when it had clearly gone forward off Atkinson, and therefore denying a try scoring opportunity?
If so, what is Umaga meant to do in that position? Just let the saints player pick it up and run it in?
It seems that the offence had already been committed by Atkinson. Something doesn't feel right with that interpretation unless I've completely misread it
-
Neil ..... where are you???? I can''t do this!! NWW???!
-
14-14. Brad try.
-
Oops again
-
17 - 14
-
This is fucking absurd. Game gets stopped for a serious injury. Restart Wasps scrum. And then we get penalised. >:( >:( >:(
-
Wasn't that tackle on Dan high?
-
Atkinson's got a hell of a kick.
-
Have our penalties got in to double figures yet? I am sure that was our plan before half time.
-
And now my poxy stream's gone down. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH.
-
Biyi off. Jeff on 38 mins.
-
And now my poxy stream's gone down. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH.
Mine went down too, to be honest it was almost a relief.
-
17 -17. Penalty. Umaga. Half time.
-

I really haven't a clue why you bother, Nelly.
-
Well my stream just came back in time to see Jacob tying it up. Considering we had a man down for 10 mins, 17 all at HT. I'll take that.
-

I agree, need some sort of drop ball scenario as in football where the other team don’t compete, or just a free kick to the team that had possession.
Of course the scrum used to be the way to restart the game but now too much of a lottery
-
Apart from the fumble Atkinson has looked good. Brave under the high ball and stood in well for Jacob.

If you must have a scrum in those circumstances, make it uncontested. This is at least the second time this has happened to us this season. Both times resulted in oppo points >:(
-
What's with the cheesy opera at Saints during HT?
-
Some decent team phases and some scintillating moments by a few individuals but we need to be far more clinical and disciplined. Northampton have been as physical as hell so hopefully they’ll tire out and allow us to play a loser, faster game.
14 - 7. Umaga yellow card -

Yes Umaga was penalised for handling the ball while being off side. You are absolutely right he should of left it and risked a try but in the heat of battle you can’t blame him ... it’s instinct.
Wasn't that tackle on Dan high?
Looked like it but Robson was falling which made it look worse.
Have our penalties got in to double figures yet? I am sure that was our plan before half time.
I believe it’s 8 and 6 for Northampton.
Biyi off. Jeff on 38 mins.
I know Blackett said he’d give him another 20 minute shift (and he did 35) but I wouldn’t have had any issues keeping him on longer given his scrummaging against the Northampton pack.
-
Problem is Atkinson has good skills and trusts them. However he is less aware of risk where it's more appropriate to not over elaborate. Jacob is guilty of this too.
It's the exuberance of youth which shows up their inexperience. At junior level they got away with it and looked brilliant. At Premiership level they need to develop equivalent rugby nous which learning from experience will teach them.
-
Off we go again.
-
Josh slowing down?
-
Zack try disallowed. 17 - 17
-
West off. HIA. Si Mac on
-
Shall I shut up now???
-
20 - 17
-
Last 2 scrums Saints been pushing early - no sanction :(
-
Josh slowing down?
I don't think so
I don't think he's ever been an out and out speedster like a Varndell, but his all round skills make him a very complete winger
-
We push early now. Saints free kick. This ref is a joke.
-
Oghre’s darts have improved.
-

Ahhhah.
I'd missed the offside part.
That makes sense
Cheers
-
Paolo looks injured. Leg. Westy back on and Si Mac off. Jimmy on; Paolo walks off.
-
Doggy off injured. Gopps on.
-
And that sums up our season, the ball doesn’t pop up for Zack, they get a break and the ball pops up perfectly.
Saved by a knock-on.
-
They score. TV. Knock on. No try.
-
And that sums up our season, the ball doesn’t pop up for Zack, they get a break and the ball pops up perfectly.
Zach did everything he could.
-
60 mins. 20 - 17
-
Bring on Cruse.
-
And that sums up our season, the ball doesn’t pop up for Zack, they get a break and the ball pops up perfectly.
Zach did everything he could.
I wasn’t implying it was Zack’s fault, he couldn’t have done more, it’s we aren’t getting those little things that change games.
-
23 - 17 Biggar kicks for penalty. 63 mins. Drat.
-
23 - 20. Umaga kicks. 66 mins
-

I didn't think you did. It was just a comment.
-
TMO is doing what? Biggar should be off.
-
And knock on missed by this joke of TMO.
-
F'ing joke Biggar yellow and clear knock on
-
It’s Hughes again.
-
Are we allowing knock-ons now?
Grrrrrr
-
Their try 28 - 20 Knock on but they keep it. 30 - 20. 72 mins
-
Graham Hughes is a total dick.
-
Graham Hughes is a total dick.
It's Roy Maybank, he's infected them all. I think I remember a game at Northampton about twenty years ago where the game he was refereeing wasn't the same game that was being played.
-
Robbo off. Vellacott on. 76 mins 30 - 20.
-
LBP for now
-
Hughes keeps trying to stop everything for us!!
-
High tackle ok them.....Joke
-
Graeme Hughes should genuinely be sacked off that performance.
Given every single tool to make his job easier and still got almost every big decision wrong. Incredible
-
</understatement on> well, that was a a trifle disappointing <understatement off>
-
We cannot get a break :( :( :(
-
30 - 25. Tom Willis (fav, Wasp) Red time. 81.10. High tackle on Charlie. Ref bottles it IO penalty. Finish. M o M: David Ribbans. Wasps in 8th place. I neeed a darkened room.
-
Hughes . I think that he has tu put a f**** glasses in his face.
He has the worst peformance from a TMO that i have ever seen in my life.
-
Hughes has been atrocious from the start. Wasps were shafted by him. Seemed to be looking for reasons to penalise us when intervening and failed to say anything when there was clear evidence of Saints indiscretions. Also argued the ref out of a clear penalty at the end. He should not be seen in the Premiership again.
-
He's screwed us before. Missed the eye gouge on Josh.
-
Hughes . I think that he has tu put a f**** glasses in his face.

He continually penalises Wasps.
-
The TMO is an absolute disgrace -
BIGGAR SHOULD HAVE SEEN RED
RIBBANS KNOCKS THE BALL ON AND WOOD SCORES
RIBBANS THEN GOES HIGH on CHARLIE, DEEMED AS FINE
Ridiculous and he should never see the inside of a TMO van again, or be allowed anywhere near a rugby ground.....
-
Regardless of the officials we were just not good enough, penalties in the first half were almost becoming embarrassing, losing or giving away possession too easily and gave them far too much ground every time they had the ball.
Disappointed but don’t think we deserved to win either
-
How frustrating is that. Not sure what we've done to Graham Hughes but he's absolutely determined not to give us anything. First try - Biggar's kick from hand is 20 yards ahead of the offence. Clear knock on by Ribbons for their try - not even looked at. Biggar hit to Umaga's head - missed. It really is just not good enough officiating.
-
To my mind we lost that for two reasons.
The early rash of penalties, and appalling ref/TMO team. Not sure which was worse, the TMO I think was the overriding factor. It wasn't just the smash to Jacob or the knock on in the lineout. They dropped the maul just in front of the line and many times crawled round the blind side of the ruck, to which the line ref was totally blind. Sorry to say, that was our match and we were robbed by very poor reffing.
3 out of 3 losses with that ref. Not surprised.
-
Austin Healey should be appointed TMO. He is so much better than the official muppet when commentating.
He might be useful as a coach at Wasps too. He is quite insightful. Spots things the players don't.
-
Poor performance today by Wasps.
The TMO was much much worse.
Graham Hughes should never be TMO again.
-
Frankly, with all the kit he's got, the TMO should only rarely get it wrong. Today was a disgrace and I'm very angry about it. I'll calm down soon but he has really pissed me off. It's getting to the point when I'm starting to think that Hughes has his own agenda where Wasps are concerned.
-
I did not think we deserved to win today, and to say Hughes cost us would be to cover our own deficiencies..and these need the full light of day to deal with. But no one can defend the TMO anymore, and he has to be stood down..the game has gone beyond his ability.
-
He's screwed us before. Missed the eye gouge on Josh.
Bufff, in this match, he had many chances for take the lead and take a deep chance to check it. It was very very suspect from his side.
In this match he had a mare and take to lead very quickly over the novel ref to do his own choices and did several blatant errors.
On the other hand, we played very poor, but we could win without this cheaps shot and after of that, with a blatant knock on for their final try.
-
After the Thorley and Carreras incidents, I thought my expectations for Hughes were low. Had he performed at the level I expected we'd have won that. Instead I really overestimated his abilities.
Players are not safe with him as a TMO. I'd 110% back Wasps if we refused to play any match he is assigned to.

This with knobs on.
-
Brad made a wrong call again when he asked Jacob to kick for touch rather than take the 3 points towards the end.
Good performances by Dan, Thomas Young, Brad, Tom Willis and Rowlands. Better performance by Gaby. Zak is not doing enough if you ask me.
-
The TMO knows that what he/she says is on TV.
They should shut the f*** up and concentrate on the outcome, because they are talking themselves into poor decisions.
-
I’ve just had another look as it didn’t get fair coverage because the commentators were discussing the grass and bunkers at Augusta as Jacob kicked off, but it was a great kick and chase by Josh and he was unfortunate to get pinged so quickly. Yes he did roll away north/south but they were also flying in from the side.
I’m not complaining about the decision, refs want to make a statement about the breakdown, but it was hardly a soft penalty. And who would have thought a penalty in the middle of the park inside their 22 would lead ypto them scoring so quickly? Such is life.
