Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: From the i - bit worrying

Does imply that they have overcome the "access" hurdle which was mentioned last week (?).
Hope to see more forthcoming now.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Worcester - Atlas have until 2nd May to complete purchase
« on: April 25, 2023, 10:37:00 AM »
Talking of extra time needed, worth noting that 2nd May is a week today.
Next Monday, 1st, is a Bank Holiday.
No chance.

I have a friend who claims to be "in the know" who also says it's a done deal.
Honestly would love him to be wrong. For quite a few reasons!

Basically, the entire next round of the Premiership is redundant. What a cock-up.
Ring-fencing, eh?

Great result for Jersey, but ultimately if they go on to win the Championship there's still no hope of promotion.
Sorry, broken record...

Watched most of Bordeaux (featuring Gabby and Tom W) v Lyon (featuring Lima) last night. Was 9-6 when I had to turn it off, and the Bordeaux scored a couple of late tries!
Tom W was noticably rumbunctious in the third quarter, a number of bullocking runs.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: French lessons ? attracting people (to rugby)

As a post-Coventry move Wasps fan I was probably watching Cov at Coundon Road thrashing either Orrell or Penzance & Newlyn, depending on the exact date.
I'll not lie, Biarritz would have been a bit more glamourous!

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: English rugby fading
« on: April 24, 2023, 01:50:01 PM »
See the thread about why the game is thriving in France.
The idea of Summer rugby has merit, but the entire structure of pro rugby in England needs tearing down and rebuilding. The RFU is unfit for purpose, and the club v country situation with the PRL is designed to weaken both clubs and the national side.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Dai in trouble
« on: April 24, 2023, 01:48:34 PM »
Haven't seen anything about this other than what I've read on this thread, but if it's just people throwing their toys out of the pram because Dai's not picking them, then it's a storm in a tea cup, no?
If it's more than that then we'll have to see, I guess.
I appreciate this post adds nothing to the conversation

Trouble is the whole Catch-22 the RFU are creating:
You need to secure funding to get into the Championship next year, but as we don't yet know what we want to do with the Championship after that you'll be buggered trying to get funding...
