Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: So what's the thinking on the Bond?

Last week, the rugby club served a “notice in the event of default”, informing investors that it hoped to agree to refinancing terms with HSBC by August 13. It said it would update bondholders no later than July 29.

That's tomorrow....fingers crossed!

I'm Matt, nearly 42 years old and started following Wasps at Sudbury at 1986 when my Grandfather introduced me to them.  He had been a Wasps fan since the 1950's and was a Life Member of the club and used to work the gate at Repton Avenue.  The entire family are Wasps fans and were season ticket holders at Sudbury, Loftus Road and Adams Park.  The move from Adams Park to Coventry coincided with the arrival of my first born so trips to the Ricoh have been limited.  Just as he is at an age where we could start to travel to games, sprog number 2 is due for arrival in the next few weeks, so that's put an end to that!!!

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: The Welsh Lions

Yeah I see your point about the potential Welsh bias.  But lets see what unfolds over the remainder of the tour.  I think the selection for the first test will tell us a lot.  I personally don't hold out much hope for the Lions this time around, but I hope it's not as dismal as SCW in 2005.

Part of their team bonding before they left the UK was to learn 4 different songs/hymns, one that relates to each of the home nations.  I'm guessing the Welsh one was the one they opted for on arrival.

Seat colour is irrelevant.  If there are 30,000+ bums on them, like on Saturday, then you can't tell what colour they are anyway!!!!

Terrible news for their family.  Huge respect to Ben for making this decision.  It would be lovely if there was a way us Wasps fans could show them our support at the semi final.

It was a good performance and result by the lads, and I know we can only beat the side that is in front of us, but Sarries were a long way from being at full strength.  I hope that the win will give the team a huge amount of confidence for the semi final.

That is very good news.

I think both matches are very tough to call.  I would like to think we will beat Tigers, Exeter at Sandy Park will be a tough ask of Sarries but if they are at full strength and on form, I don't see anyone beating them.

To me, I think some of the issues are with strength and conditioning. When we had the best in the business (IMO) in Paul "Bobby" Stridgeon, we peaked for this final part of the season in terms of our fitness and match sharpness. To me, since the start of the year we have started to look tired and off the pace. It's similar to what happened (in my mind) last season.

Good news....I hope they are allowed to pick some of the better games for the general public to get a good idea of what domestic rugby is all about.  Also hope the higlights show is on at a decent time and not hidden away at some stupid time in the middle of the night.
