Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Kent!
« on: October 24, 2023, 02:49:44 PM »
I travelled from Kent to Loftus Road and then from Kent to High Wycombe.  I then travelled from Kent to virtually all the Coventry games where I had a season ticket throughout their stay there.  It meant so much to me I did this.  If they were back in Coventry or Worcester I would do the same again.  Where there's a will there's a way, I guess, although i sympathise with the guy from Yorkshire which might make it too much for him.  Come back anywhere for me, Wasps.

It all means nothing unless and until we have a squad!

Elated beyond expression even though many miles to travel before we get to where we all want Wasps to be.  It is a better step than the alternative.  From now on I shall buy only Raging Bull clothing!!  Well done Phil and the others.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Feeling quite melancholy

"For me I’m not sure rugby will hold the same pull again. I haven’t watched any game this weekend which is unheard of. The results have passed me by. I simply will get no joy watching g the remainder of the league play."

I thought I might be over reacting by feeling just the same so I am comforted by what others are feeling.

Seems you can cheat and get relegated for a year and come up again and it's ok - no suggestion the cheats should have lost lost their "P" share.  Please don't challenge that logic. Couldn't watch rugby today but watched Sri Lanka and Namibia cricket instead.

Feel as if I have just been dumped by a longstanding girlfeiend and cannot get used to the idea she won't be there any more.

Three Lions Tours, two World Cups, followed England all over for their matches and Wasps too and now no interest in any rugby.

Very sad.

I am the eternal optimist and I saw a lot of good things today but we were overpowered up front in the set pieces and we did some really dangerous offloads when we should have just held on and gone again. Also our conversion rate when we are on their line is terrible.  I do wonder what we practice in training and that comes down to the coaches I am afraid.  I think we have the players except for the power point and with the right coaching could be a much better team.

NWW makes a good point.  Trading while insolvent is a serious offence.  The normal route to protect against this is to go into administration to give time to find a buyer.

Trawling through the blogs of various Premiership clubs it is hard to find a fan who has a kind word to say about Jones@ performance for England.  He seems to have totally lost the fans.  There must be a number of players who feel the same.

Eddie jones says the new approach will be "gas and go".  Well, Mr Jones, we know too well where all the the gas is don't we but with your coaching team the "go" is rather better hidden.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Our Backs
« on: May 21, 2022, 08:57:31 AM »
I am not sure it is the lack of skill or ability with any of our backs as individuals.  Just watching us in set piece moves, for example, it seems we don't have any tricks, plans or imagination such as you see with other teams. Our backs seem to play as individual, a criticism I have made before about our forwards.  How much more effective would we be if our backs moved the ball more effectively - at they moment they are just predictable and take the ball into contact too often.  I also think that our forwards have a woeful offloading game for the most part.  Both these things destroy the quick ball and turnovers we are capable of.

How long before he gets bought by Saracens who, even now, seem to have an endless supply of money?

I know some will say we should let it rest now but a thought which I have always had is that apart from their cheating on the cap the biggest issue was the damage done to other clubs by denuding them of their good players.
