Title: Exeter out at Thomond Park

Terrific arm wrestle with Munster. Just the sort of game Munster excel at. Been said before but Exe are really too one dimensional to proceed in Europe. They did try to run it at times but I didn't think they looked confident when they did. Their usual formula (penalty, line out, maul, try) did work once. However they kept going back to it without further success.

Another sad European Cup rugby tournament for English Prem sides - all out apart from the imperious Sarries. That's Bath, Wasps, Exeter, Gloucester, Leicester and Newcastle all gone in the pool stages. To put it another way, that's five of the top six of last season's English Premier League. Pretty awful really. French sides didn't do much better. I don't think there is an easy or quick fix. The Celtic sides aren't going to change their league structure and we aren't going to change ours. We'll just have to console ourselves that these things usually go in cycles. After all it was only 3 years ago that we completed an 84-16 season’s double over Leinster.
