Wasps Rugby Discussion / Happy Easter Morning
« on: April 21, 2019, 08:21:22 AM »
It's going to be a scorcher. I am just about to head out a get (at least some) the lawn mowing done. Easter Sunday used to for me, and still does for many, mean the family get together and a barbecue. But I can't do with the beer and/or wine any more, and certainly not the plates of slightly burnt burger and hot dogs. A light lunch, and then out on my motorbike to enjoy the relatively quiet roads (I say relative to the rest of this long weekend), as most people are where they want to be already for the next few days, especially those towing caravans. Not so many trucks out either, and certainly few white van men and ladies.

A nice, gentle ride, taking in the gorgeous spring that has now sprung. If one or two of you fellow bike riding Waspies want to say 'Hi' I would be pleased to meet up and ride together. I tend to ride only for about 30-60 minutes to a nice spot, like Dover's Hill, Broadway Tower, The Rollright Stones and other such places, sit, take in the view, get a bit of sun, have a drink (of water or similar), maybe read a book) and then ride on some more. Leisurely. Not fast and stupid - I don't want to die young (hehe, that passed a long time ago).

I am in South Warwickshire, just to the East of Stratford, but I tend to ride (as well as in South and East Warwickshire) in North Gloucestershire, North Oxfordshire and East Worcesteshire, and a little of the West Midlands (South East of Birmingham) - have bike, will ride. No commitment, no routes, no planning (other then where/when to meet up), drop out to shoot off home when you like). Just in it for the joy of the open road, beautiful weather and countrywide, and maybe some mates who enjoy a natter about the egg-shaped game.

I know Leinster and Toulouse is on today, but who cares? Not me anyway.

Anybody, perchance, have this? Have looked everywhere, can't find one. Found a photo, but that's all. That was the year with the snow and iced up from hell winter.

Does this mean (as happened at least last season) ST holders get access to a free ticket for one of the last two home games? I can't find any other details:

Wasps Rugby Discussion / OL's Training Base update
« on: February 19, 2019, 11:50:00 AM »
Nick Eastwood did an interview with Touch FM (the local radio station in Leamington and Warwick) and gave them an update.

Wasps were busy doing local consultations/surveys (wildlife surveys etc) right now. They should be completed soon, and then they will draw up plans to submit to Warwick DC in Summer this year at the latest. Assuming it all goes through quickly, the site would be completed by Summer 2020.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Some more rumours
« on: February 19, 2019, 09:36:33 AM »
23 year old scrum half Will Homer (ex Bath), currently at Jersey Reds, to Wasps next year.

T J Harris (our young hooker) to Carnegie next year.

Craig Hampson off to Ealing Trailfinders.

And, simply because I know him (I used to teach him and his brother), and his family live only an hour south of the Ricoh (down the Fosse Way), Will Goodrick-Clarke is off to Irish. A great, young TH. Here he is, just in case we see him in the future (we will I suspect):

I know, people will cry Miller, but surely not, as a plan? Does this mean we need to call Umaga back?

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Alex Rieder

When asked how soon will he be back, he tweeted:

Not long😉. Final stretch, fine tuning the hips before I get back dancing.

I get the feeling Jimmy is not far either.

According to RIL, (and as we suspected he only signed a one year contract) is being offered big money to move. Makes me wonder where to?

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Midday News of a different kind?

https://twitter.com/WaspsRugbyNews/status/1093790387074936832

Wasps set to announce team news of a different kind at midday...

Notice no reference to 'player' or 'signing'?

Maybe coaching team news? Or could team news include training ground news?
