Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Bath v Wasps: Post Match Thoughts.

Umaga looked great in attack but we can't play him at full back. He is a massive liability.

We have some really exciting young wingers who should be getting a chance. Didn't see anything of Kilbridge in attack and he's awful defensively.

I managed to find it after some digging. It's on the same site as the mens team tickets, just not so obvious

https://www.eticketing.co.uk/wasps/Events?preFilter=5&preFilterName=Wasps%20Women

You're a better than me. I never got that far. According to this there are no tickets.

Does anyone know how to buy tickets for Wasps Women?

I want to take my daughter to the opening match next weekend but can't find anywhere.

I did message their Facebook page but got no response.

RFU have just stated that Rugby Union is to go ahead this weekend. I suppose Premiership Rugby could decide otherwise.

I wonder if it is ticketed?

It definitely is not ticketed. Free parking as well.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: State Schools Ban?

You definitely need qualified coaches, otherwise it would be massively unsafe.

As you say, most schools do not have qualified coaches which is why there needs to be links between schools and local clubs. With my daughter's school, we (the local club) are offering to help out with coaches if required.

You can do a course to learn the basics of introducing contact over a couple of evenings and there are lots of evening courses to learn the basics. The entry level proper coaching award is the England Rugby Coaching Award which takes 7/8 months to complete.

Probably not the best timing for my daughter to be trying to start a contact Rugby team at her school.

My daughter is at an all girls grammar school and the only Rugby ever offered was a touch Rugby club which was run on a Wednesday lunchtime which only lasted one term as they didn't have the numbers.

My daughter has argued for a proper after school Rugby club who can then play matches against other schools. The school argued that there wasn't the desire so my daughter sent out a google form to the current year 9s and 10s (U16 team for next season) and has 60 girls wanting to play. She also asked whether they wanted touch or contact and not one wanted to play touch. They are now starting an after school club from September.

I can understand some schools being a bit wary in this day and age but Rugby is a great sport for kids to play. I think it is especially useful for teenage girls who fall away from sport at this age. There are not many other sports which is as inclusive as Rugby and is suitable for people of all sizes.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Wasps U18s match

Does anyone here watch the U18s team at all?

I was thinking about going to watch them at Aylesbury on Saturday against Saints.

Do they get much of a crowd?

Hi, I am Dan and I live in Aylesbury.

Watched Rugby from a young age but never supported anyone until my daughter played in a tournament sponsored by Wasps. After the tournament we had tickets to go and watch Wasps last Premiership match at Adams Park ( a trouncing of London Welsh) and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I have supported Wasps ever since and my daughter likes Wasps but is more interested in women's' rugby.
