Completely agree Neils .......  I know  he's injured at the moment,  but given the chance he should get back tg Bordeaux as quickly as possible.

Thank you so much, asteriskszegol.  You explained so well exactly what I think but explained very poorly.  My thoughts precisely.  I have always admired Alfie  but have never been happy with him as an 8;  it just didn't  seem to suit him and I thought his all-round  play suffered.  Which (given his obvious talents and abilities) was a shame.

Yellow and red card ones!  Maybe I'm just expecting too much of him.

Everyone makes mistakes when they are young, but you don't expect them to go on making the same boo-boos when they are older, esp. when they are athletes (thereby having a shorter professional life than non-athletes).  I'd have just thought that he'd learn from experience 'cos he's not daft.

I'm sure Bath would disagree with me. Having seen him playing for several years I'm  disappointed that  he doesn't seemed to have learned self-control in the way he plays.  He  .....  oh,  how can I put it ....   is still going at things like a bull at a gate without any thought for the consequences;  at 23 he should know better.

Alfie Barbeary seems to be turning into a penalty  machine  -  yellow card right at the beginning of the match and  a red at the end.  I  used  to hold him in high esteem, until he decided to play at 8.  Now he  seems to make  bad  decisions and has become a bit of a plonker.  Shame.

Bordeaux was a joy to watch .....  like silk, it was so smooth.  At the end of the match Fazlet's and Brief Cases's faces were also a joy  to watch, if you weren't a Sarrie.  I quite enjoyed that game.

Thanks Neils;  thought it felt familiar.  The D. Tel has presumably lifted it for today's  article.

Has anyone else read the D. Tel. ''Features'' pages  6 and 7,  ''A stadium bigger than the 02 in our tiny village?  No way''.  I have to agree about the 28,000 seater  size, and also  if someone wanted to build any sort of stadium in our tiny village I too would object.  Defo feeling of deja vue.

It's so complicated, isn't it.  So many ifs and maybes.  Completely understand what you mean, but some ''experts'' are expert at misleading other people, especially if they can present a good case and trouser a fair whack from it.
