Suspect the contract probably began today hence the announcement.

I note from our announcement that he says he is looking forward to playing in the CC and not just the prem. Does that mean he's registered for Europe?

Front row injury cover is one of the late registrations that is allowed, I think.

I am not sure how far in advance of any given match they have to be registered. I am pretty sure it would be too late already, plus I think there is a limit as to the number you can register. And ... it has to be for long term injury cover. I doubt Covid and being in quarantine counts.

Martínez added: “I am very excited to get the chance to play for Wasps in the Gallagher Premiership and Heineken Champions Cup. I would like to say a big thank you to Olímpia, I really enjoyed my time playing for them and I wish the Club all the best for the future.
The latter part of his statement would indicate he has departed Olimpia for good so this loan deal may become a longer term contract if he performs.

IT does sound that way. For insurance and cap purposes, he may have to come in as injury cover. And then get a 'new' contract for next season. Wasn't that how Nemo arrived with us?

Yes that’s right, Nizaam has proved this model can work very well. Having watched his highlights video, I hope he loves it here and wants to stay. He looked very good in the recent match against France.
I still would have loved to see Alfie playing hooker with this guy at prop.

It is a bit of a luxury but that is the perfect way to employ someone.

Hey FrankWasp for sure, JTA has a smile that lights up the pitch 😁
But not everyone is wired that way! When I played with Fran Cotton I didn’t notice he smiled a lot either during the game, but he certainly destroyed the opposition scrum. (He did smile a lot in the clubhouse afterwards). So maybe that’s Rodrigo’s way?
Anyhow, I agree he looked pretty focused in those highlights. Can’t wait for him to bring that intensity to Wasps.

I believe he is available for selection as he didn't play against the Irish so shouldn't need resting.
If he's fit and ready I'll be surprised if he's not on the bench.

With West fit again it's no surprise he's not on the bench even if he is available.
