Cost saving measures are they having them away from home. Not much good for preseason fan engagement.

Not even the bench makes any sense with two flankers there, and no backup for BV.

We will be run ragged.

Come on in Eddie we trust.................not

Back up for BV is obvious its Willis.  Willis has played a blinder at 8 all season, ow wait, you don't think Eddie has forgotten which Willis brother is in the squad do you?

How far in advance would the players have known they were being picked.  Dan along with several other players were spotted in a bar in Budapest yesterday so either he had no idea  he was going to be named in the squad or he's only got a short domestic pass out.

Not sure Gaskell is contributing much. Time for change perhaps

Very one dimensional especially second half. I wonder if the pack don’t have confidence in the backs. Atkinson was an anonymous most of the game. Fekitoa should have been subbed at half time offered nothing again except handling errors and poor passing.

I do wonder if out young forwards try too hard think they can do it all on their owns, hence the boring predictable passage of play second half. Anyone else sit waiting for the ball to be knocked on, turned over  or sealed off.

I couldn’t watch sale week in week out so boring, so slow in their play.

I hope next year we go with more variable game plans. Have confidence in out backs and in the forwards.

Expectations

To see the squad play as a team for the full 80.  Often we go hairem scareem and panic seems to set in, the ball gets throw around, off loads made when they just need to go into contact , set up and then play.  Some of that control perhaps comes from experience but some should come from on field leadership and coaching.  You don't win a game in the first 30 minutes, the Biaritz game nearly showed that.

Silverware is hard won.  The Prem is a lottery decided by one 80 minute winner takes all game. We have the bitter sweet experience of that, Quins have shown finishing 4th can still see you win the final. Europe is dominated now by other nations so we have to box clever. No point finishing 8th because you then draw Leinster and the Top 14 champions in the CC. Demoralising for everyone to get beaten in the opening rounds. Better of course to get 6th but if we cant do that settle for 9th and build in the Challenge Cup.

We are building so its our time to look at where we can get some success rather than go all out to try and win everything.

Not to be.

Too many handling errors killed us.  Not sure Fekitoa will be missed much next year or Jimmy for that matter.  Our centres were out played.

Anyone found a reasonably priced flight to Lyon?

So are we all supporting Glasgow tonight? We’re a higher seed than them, so think I’m right in saying that if they win we get a ‘home’ semi: In the UK, but neutral ground.

Wonder where Lyon will choose to play theirs if they win.  Lille would be handy! (Maybe not if you’re a Lyon fan)

I think reading the rules the semi finals are not at neutral grounds. I know the champions cup games are but rules just say for the challenge cup that the team with highest ranking has home advantage. Doesn’t say home country advantage. I may have misread and be wrong but a semi final at the CBS would be huge.

A game that could have gone either way right to the final whistle. Not sure the ref will get a good review  from that game. How was that not a penalty try in the second half. No different to Joe pulling down the maul on the line last week. Clear knock in build up to one of our tries and I too thought deliberate knock on right at the end.

On field management just isn’t right. I like Joe and we are a better side with him in it but he doesn’t seem to have the Captaincy respect needed. The free kick incidence in the first half is a good example. Why do that when we had complete scrum dominance.

Cracking game by the forwards but where has the classic wasps attacking backs game gone. As someone else said did Josh or Hooligan get a decent pass in the whole game. Porter tried to screw it up again and Dan had moments of genius but some real brain farts as well.

A win is a win in knock rugby and on to next weekend. Come on your Waps.

Before all the Wasps bashing…we had an exceptional 70 minutes.
Let’s not forget that.

Also…let’s not forget that on Page 1 of this thread I warned you about Harry Arundell and what he could potentially do.
And I was absolutely spot on.
I can see the talent….and he worried me before the game.
Josh Lewsey…Version 2.0

Amazing game of rugby.
And you know what…life is what it is. I enjoyed the first 70 minutes immensely.
I’ve loved this game. Not everything is about the result.

We’ll learn from this.
We aren’t the finished article yet.

But, yes….watch out for Harry Arundell. England’s future 15 looks sharp.
(And yes, I’ve been watching him for a while as he went to my old school).

Absolutely for the neutral it would have a been a superb game to watch. I thought the same watching the saints game on Friday, a great evenings entertainment. Today however I have watched my team butcher a massive lead, go from dominating the game to giving Irish an easy draw.

How not to see out a game easily won. Seen it all before.

Do we really want to finish 8th. Yes it means champions cup but guarantees being drawn against Leinster and the winners of the French league. Surely 9th and to be top seed in the challenge cup would be better. We need some success, some silverware to breed confidence not a year of being under dogs and being knocked out at the early stages.

Look at warriors. Poor all year but now have a chance of silverware in the prem cup. Must boost players confidence, fans mood puts bums on seats.

We played some sublime rugby at times but the score flatters to deceive. Warriors were poor at times including for the last try. I’m surprised by how poor they were given some of those players must be playing for a future career.

Good to see Jack W getting some turnovers. Jacob has lots to work on on his place kicking for next season. We fell of tackles at times just warriors then fluffed each of the chances all by themselves.

A really good team effort today.

When do we know where we are next week?

Next round is 5-7th May. Next week is at CBSA against worcester.

I’d suspect next round will be Friday night 5th or Saturday afternoon 6th.

Why at home if against bath, surely it’s an away fixture regardless?

No it goes on seeding. We are a higher seed than Bath but lower than Edinburgh.

Thanks I hadn’t realised that. I thought it was a simple home/away draw.
