Vodaphone will be replacing Land Rover as main shirt sponsor and investing in 5G data facilities at the club.

Sort of confirms the rumours around the JLR sell off to PSA. I can't see PSA, despite their presence in Coventry over decades, wanting to sponsor Wasps. I wonder how this ties up with the Ericsson deal Wasps have?

FYI - From the offy:

Look on it as good news. Wonder how they can lose it on a shirt though. Maybe not as bad as Toolstation.

Red and white would look OK on a black background, but with gold it would clash.

In the relatively small/niche market that is rugby, for a premiership club to secure a sponsorship deal with a global telecoms company is quite a coup (obviously we don't know how much they are paying for the privelege).
Vodaphone is the type of company that sponsors on a global scale.
I think the 5g thing is just promo nonsense to accompany the announcement. Ericcson supplied an internal wifi system to the area around the Ricoh (so what's going to happen to that) whereas 5g is a mobile phone network signal.. unless they mean they are using higher frequencies for a new internal wifi system again.
Either way, I think its positive news for wasps and raises the spectre of doom around JLR.

I'd hoped PSA would shower the area in sponsorship to lessen the bad news / bad press around a JLR sell off would inevitably cause in the area so was hopeful for a deal. But Vodaphone is good too. Welcome news. Do they fancy stadium naming rights?!

I think this is excellent news. Top tier company who have sponsored many high end sports and successful sports teams. And England cricket.... ;)
Seriously, this can only be good news all round.
P.S. really nice to see the involvement of the Mayor.

I might have to stay a Vodafone customer after this...
