Wasps Rugby Discussion / Wasps Fans Forum
« on: November 23, 2019, 05:33:22 PM »
As I mentioned on the Morning All thread I was at the Wasps Fans Forum before the game today. I personally found it a very interesting and positive meeting however have been pondering how to write this post through the game as I know people will want concrete news and there is very little of that to pass on, anyway here goes.

Approx 20/25 of us spent about 70 minutes with Stephen Vaughan (new CEO), Mark o'Shea (Delaware Food & Beverages), Tom Vale (communications) and Verity Brown (community/matchday). Much of it led by Stephen based around his first few weeks in the job and the challenges and plans ahead. Clearly he is a very astute and smart guy who seems to have made an impact already internally within the organisation and has a vision and drive about where the various parts of the business are going and how it needs to be a coordinated effort but he knows it will take time and require financial sustainability. He alluded to number of positive pieces of news in the next few months (e.g. new academy coach is already sorted) and is working on a number of other projects.
Communication from the club was raised particularly with the amount of rumour and conjecture about the club, its future and associated issues. Positive assurances were given and also the club policy is to not get involved in responding to every rumour and piece of misinformation and to keep their powder dry until there is concrete information to give.
I know this is quite a generic summary but apart from some specific individual issues of people that was how the meeting went and there is also a mutual agreement of some confidentiality which I believe I have respected here but overall I feel the club has a good pair of hands running it in Stephen.
If there are any questions I will try to respond to them within the limitations I have mentioned.

Good news, seems to have reappeared on Twitter showcasing his new fitness and personal training business venture.
Really hope it goes well for him, he was a real gent when my daughter ran out as mascot with him in one of the early Ricoh games.

Take a look at Matt Mullan (@mattmullan): https://twitter.com/mattmullan?s=09

Happy to be corrected as I am a teacher on summer holidays but my maths using early bird prices says I save a whole £11 for my category 3 season ticket?

Interesting signed Wasps shirt on ebay, am sure people on here will be able to provide much more detail but looks like 2003-4 Heineken cup winning season shirt to me, no coa or providence with it but might be worth a punt for one of you?
