Title: Actual Man of the Match
Post by: Vespula Vulgaris on March 02, 2020, 05:55:24 AM
After the somewhat surprising motm decision for the Irish game I thought it might be interesting to see what we all thought.

If I have missed someone just shout and I'll add them.

VV, the 'surprise' generally happens when there is no TV coverage. BT are independent and choose the player from either side - invariably from the winning team, but not always.

When there is no TV coverage, it tends to be one of the home team's sponsors and some of the 'home' journos who make the call.

I stand to be corrected, but I think Wasps do something similar thing at the Ricoh.

Yep I think you are correct.

I wasn't really referring to it being a LI player, more that it was a LI player who was only on for 20 minutes and was noticeably worse than the player he replaced.

Yep on that comment. It kind of beggars belief they would do that - even within their own players.

The whole idea is daft IMHO.  Usually if a team wins well it is because of several players, not just one.
