As The Doors once sang:
Halo, I love you let me jump in your game.

RFU are claiming that some who signed the letter were misled.
They really are an arrogant, out of touch bunch.
https://www.rugbypass.com/news/rfu-chair-tom-ilube-deeply-disappointed-by-revolt-from-council-members/

That might be sort of true. They might have been misled into believing that the RFU is being run effectively and efficiently.

Can one person own two ex-clubs?

The RFU and iRFU will do everything they can to prevent territorial incursions by other tournaments and leagues. If your ground is in England, you WILL be subject to the RFU and will NOT be allowed to play in any competition not approved by them for English to compete in. Total territorial monopoly is what they currently hold, and, short of governmental action (unlikely as it is the same old boys club) that will not change, ever.

Any player (including academy players) moving outside that system would be a pariah, as would the club, and any sponsor of that club.
Does that not constitute a restriction of trade?

Don't think so. There is no right to be considered for international honours, otherwise the courts would be overflowing with ambulance-chasing contingency fee lawyers representing third-rate players.

Would that mean that anyone who plays for such a club might not be eligible to play for England?

At the moment I can see that as being an advantage but...

Well done Fiji.

English rugby has reached the stage our ODI cricket reached a few years ago. Change the way they play, change the management and leadership.

The cricket team appointed an Eoin, the rugby team need to ditch their Owen.

Did he get a discount for offending in bulk?

Poor, poor decision.

Highlight of the England game so far: Ben Earl dropping to his knees, screeching in celebration.

What for, a try? Nope, an Irish line-out not thrown straight. Pathetic.

Clive Woodward was particularly scathing about that, saying that the focus should be on looking for a quick restart to gain an advantage. It seems obvious.

And red card rescinded.

That is the fudge.

Please do not associate a pleasant and enjoyable sweet with that thug.

A decision that is both unbelievable and entirely predictable.

They might try to get it heard under a different offence which would then disregard prior offences and possibly make him eligible for naughty boy school again, looks like that is what Scotland did with Fagerson according to this article.

https://www.scotsman.com/sport/rugby-union/scotland-entitled-to-breathe-huge-sigh-of-relief-over-zander-fagerson-verdict-4249605

The degree to which that stinks is nigh on immeasurable. Presumably they will argue that because Farrell saw "Basham" on the bloke's shirt he was allowed to bash him, he was provoked.

If he got a ban in January, went to school and still "tackles" like that then either he's an idiot, a thug or the naughty boy course he went on was rubbish.

Farrell should get a long ban but of course the powers that be will find a way to ensure that any ban ends ten seconds before the first World Cup game. He is a thug who shouldn't ne representing his country. I can't see the point in sending him to tackle school, if he hasn't learnt by now what miracle of education is going to make him change his ways?

We were better when Ford was pulling the strings.

I may watch it, but unless the Mill Hill Mercenaries get a thumping I doubt that I'll enjoy it

Is anyone running a book on who will be the next club to fold, because 9 teams will allow one club a week off, which will be hugely beneficial as it will aid player welfare, which they are so keen to promote, ignoring the impact on welfare of being made redundant.

I might have just talked myself out of watching.

According to wheresthematch.com no games are being televised. Maybe there will be a stream of some sort.

It's over.

If there's money to be had to put into a phoenix club, why would it be out there? There's little prospect of a return, you'd be better off leaving your money elsewhere.

The pro game us going to implode at some point fairly soon, maybe something can come out of that. However, the chances must be slim.
