Afraid so. Fwiw I don't think we would have set the league alight. Noises were being made about us being a bit more pragmatic, and frankly there were better teams at doing that.
Yes we had a great back row, but so does everyone. Most teams had superb 8s coming out their arse.
Maybe now we would be challenging for top table, maybe not. Despite the obvious quality I suspect we would have been in the melee, not looking down from on high.
It still hurts, I honestly have been watching zero prem rugby, I don't expect others to follow my lead, but won't understand those who do. Currently watching a bit of pro 14, not a great competition,  but it doesn't have cap cheats in.

Was a hell of a dynasty lined up.

Fisilau never a 5, but we had Stooke, Robson, Umaga in there as well and Maasi-White coming through in the same crop as Hartley, Feyi-Waboso, Opoku-Fordjour and Fisilau

I?ve also lost interest in the prem but just check the line ups to see where Wasps former players pop up.

And Elliot Millar-Mills has been capped by Scotland since Wasps folded!

And Elliot Millar-Mills has been capped by Scotland since Wasps folded!

..and been sold a new car by my son-in-law ;D

Like others, since the Club's demise, haven't watched a Premiership match (with exception of some of the Premiership Cup games against Championship clubs  - firmly supporting the latter).

I have been to watch Championship matches and Women's Premier Matches, and one National League match.

Have also watched URC and Pro 14 matches on the box.

Watch URC and Top 14 and absolutely no PRL unless I am somewhere I can't get away p[olitely! Watched live URC teams and some French Champions Cup stuff. Unfortunately my local club is a loud advocate for the EAs.

I may be in the minority but I have been watching Prem games & the quality is high & the rugby exciting. No its not the same when you don't have a team that you support involved, but its still worth watching IMO.
Sadly if Wasps hadn't gone under I think they would have continued to bump along at the bottom end of the table.

Personally I wonder how many of those ex-wasps players who are shining in their new clubs would have been blocked from getting game time by players who are now only squad players at their new clubs? Especially the younger ones. We will never know

Same. Although, the excitement is not there. I am enjoying watching the womens 6 Nations.

I watched Bath - Sale at the weekend.

I just couldn't get enthused. I looked at Alfie and thought "wrong shirt".

Saw Glasgow Cardiff at the weekend.
Game had some ambition, despite very poor weather. Not much kicking all told.
6n had some good stuff, but it was diminished for me as I was not seeing players in white that I had been watching all year.

To each their own, but I won't be watching prem rugby again unless Wasps are in it. Not so much as a second.

Most here feel like that I suspect.
Losing Irish and Wasps in particular won't help TV viewing figures.

Whatever spin they put on, it's obvious the viewing figures would of been higher with Wasps, Wuss and Irish
competing in the Premiership.

Evidence free statements like that aren't bankable especially as he doesn't refer to new fans.  It could be driven by the odd high profile game getting interest from other sports fans who were already subscribers and they only watched a few games out of curiosity.

The only metric TNT will be interested in is viewers per game and if adding rugby has reduced churn and that along with the what they are paying is notably absent.

Of course viewer records will be broken when so many more games are now on free to air TV. I suspect like for like comparisons of TNT only games against previous seasons when games were only shown on BT will paint a very different picture.

Pretty obvious overall figures will be up as it is now on terrestrial, it doesn't say more on TNT.

Take those away and compare to a few seasons ago.

Moreover, with every game to be televised they will be claiming records next year.

I watched Sale trounce Execeter this pm.  Exec. got one unconverted try, scored by Feyi-Oboso (think I got that last bit wrong, sorry); he was described by Topsy Ojo as an example of how Exec. took raw, untrained talent from Universities and Championships and turned them into extraordinary players.  I nearly threw the TV out of the window. I used to like Ojo but was shocked by his lack of research.  Quelle prat.

well wasps did very little for his development, he played 2 Prem cup games, that was all.

Sort of related, and seems like the best place to put this.... here's a quiz on the starting line-ups for the last 4x seasons.

https://www.sporcle.com/games/tcullen746/opening-match-line-ups-wasps-rugby

I got 84%, but kicking myself because I missed some obvious ones!

only watching England's forgotten No10, really playing well and the forgotten No9, also playing well. of course Jack and Wade and that's about it. no interest in the Prem. whatsoever.

Really?
They took an academy player, who had never played in a prem game & within a season he was an England international.....
If they had done nothing he would still be a squad player, which, if Wasps hadn't gone under, I suspect he still would be. IMO of course.

The idea that exeter have done less for his development is such an utterly bizarre take. He was at wasps for what? 5 rounds of rugby i believe? So less than 2 full months of rugby plus a preseason.

24 games for Exeter in just over one full season, most of which  he was a starter, where he's become an England international and probably the most hyped young backiine player in the country under their tutelage. I get the annoyance at a commentator hinting that exeter plucked him straight from uni and not mentioning wasps, but there's quite a difference between that situation and say, the way sarries fans talk about how they developed billy v into an international, forgetting hia time at wasps. Its quite clearly exeter who have turned immanual into the player he currently is (or at the very least, the ones who gave him the opportunity to do so)

Wasps did it with Billy V.  Academy, one year as a Senior and in May he played for England in Argentina.

Yer I know - that's why I'm saying it's not tbe same situation as IFW (even if sarries fans pretend otherwise)

Why would that be? I?m not saying Wasps have done more than Exeter. Just that Exeter haven?t done much. He?s obviously a talent but most of his development was pre Wasps in Wales. That?s where the groundwork has been put in.
