Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Dickson

But should Dickson, a Quins Player before retirement, have been the referee for such a high profile match.

Exactly, that's what makes this such a talking point him being put in that situation, if it was another ref would we be saying the same.

I suppose the problem they have is relatively small pool of top referees, many with links to clubs such as Ridley a former Tigers academy player & supporter, so if they can't do those clubs and then potentially can't do any game involving clubs who maybe are competing for title / relegation with those clubs like in the Nottingham Forest example recently, then the options are limited for a completely neutral ref!

He used TMO to check if the ball was in Mitchell's hand first, which they decided it was, and also as he said it wasn't a ruck as no other players so as he gone round onside then come over and played Mitchell with the ball in his hands it was OK.

This is the Porter just released by Quins.

Is he?

Do you mean Guy Porter leaving from Tigers?

Porter really coming of age here.

He was brilliant, typical Quins performance so glad I had the Win, more than 72.5 points in the game and a yellow card bet!

La Rochelle v Stormers a much better watch, easy choice to make when I saw what the alternative was.

+1

+2 . But enjoying UBB beating Cheats even more

Sort of game they uses to go and win just don't seem to have the same strength in depth these days...
