I think Shugs put it very well. Myself and my wife are not showing any form of supority with regards to entering the championship we are just glad we still exist. The premiersjip and RFU have made this the only option. As shugs stated a certain team was slapped on the wrist and allowed to keep a squad and all trophies gained from breaking premiership rules. We are competing under the rules the RFU have demanded we meet wjich means championship rugby in an area local to Coventry.

To be perfectly honest Marlovian I couldn’t give a tinkers cuss what any other team thinks. As far as I am aware administration where you can’t prove no fault carries the sanction of relegation. So we’ve not really bullied our way into the Championship or been parachuted in - that’s just where the process puts us. The RFU now have to sort that out. I don’t think anyone’s saying the Championship should be glad to have us etc and I don’t think there is any particular arrogance. I also dont think we need to regard ourselves as sullied. We tried something eminently laudable and it failed. Let’s face it, in the recent past a team has blatantly cheated it’s way to, and kept multiple titles and when found out took “some” punishment but then peddled the “let’s draw a line under things now” agenda. Don’t see why we can’t do the same.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Wasps Statement - from Offy

That is great news from my point of view. I know there are a lot of Wasps fans who do not want to return if it means we stay in Coventry for reasons I can well understand. However I will be pleased to be able to carry on supporting my club in itds new beginning. To add to this I do really hope Worcester will be able to carry on along with us hopefully we can look forward to some good championship battles.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: England

All I can see is two things from this. The first one is a scandalous lack of leadership, strategy, understanding and direction by the RFU, cemented by their determination to crush and destroy us and Worcs with today’s ruling and deadline. The game’s governing body is demonstrating wilful neglect of their duties and Sweeney should quit - in any other organisation or business his position would be untenable - sacking Jones two years too late, letting professional clubs go to the wall, being ripped to shreds by MPs in a public enquiry and now leaving their flagship side high a dry a few months before the World Cup.

Secondly, much the same it’s down to Sweeney, but Borthwick will be just a continuation of the Jones style (without the abuse). A Farrell dominated kick and chase outfit that will plod along with no vision, style or entertainment value.

I’d even prefer bigmouth Baxter over Borthwick, but I just can’t support an England team that represents the RFU  - an organisation that put it’s foot on our head when we were drowning and needed help, and a league that is dominated by corrupt owners calling the shots.

Regardless of what has happened on the pitch in the past 8 years (a couple of finals, one European semi, but no silverware), the outcome is undeniably disastrous.

8 major trophies in a 6 year period during our time in Wycombe is a considerably better return, and yes we were just as deep in the mire financially by the end of that time, with no money, no home of our own and no other revenue streams, and only the Cov move saved us then, but ultimately all that achieved was a stay of execution and further debt accrual.

I admire the Cov based fans who have really embraced Wasps, and I know there are many on here and I mean them no disrespect.  However, I have a work colleague who lives in Warwickshire and started going with his family to watch Wasps when they moved to the Ricoh (as was), having previously not followed the domestic game.  When he heard the news of Wasps demise, his reaction was "We'll have to go to Tigers or Saints now", and I can't help but feel that this is probably true for many more Midlands-based Wasps fans (present company excepted of course!).  Exactly the reaction PRL want, namely that enough fans will simply move along to somewhere else to make Wasps and Worcester's fate commercially irrelevant..
My wife and I are from Wolverhampton and have been season ticket holders since2016-17. We will not be following or attending any other premiership clubs, We have not watched a premiership game since Wasps stopped playing. The premiership will get no money from us, however we do plan to watch Ealing Trailfinders in the New Year

it appears season ticket holders have been getting letters with regards to the process of entering a claim as a creditor. Has anybody who purchased A hospitality season ticket received a letter yet.

That is tough reading admit I had tears reading those. Still finding it hard to accept I will not be seeing them in a Wasp shirt. Thanks for the memories of a great bunch of players.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Season ticket/Hospitality Package holders
« on: October 18, 2022, 11:55:08 AM »
Hope the following helps any other season ticket or hospitality package holders trying to explore refunds through their banks.
I have been InTouch with my bank to try and explore the option of refunds as per the statement on the Wasps web site. As you are probably aware if you paid by credit card you have a good chance of getting  a refund. Debit card payment is a bit more awkward  however there is a route and it is called chargeback, you have 120 days from the date services were paid for to claim via this route. If like me you paid by direct bank transfer I have been told by my bank that there is no scheme to recover refunds for direct transfers. I eventually (to my suprise) got put through to the fraud department and I had to explain I had not been defrauded the company had gone into Administration, however the person I spoke to advised you cannot use Chargeback for a bank transfer. So I now need to wait to see if I can claim something back through the admin process.
I know a number of you have very strong financial backgrounds so may have more accurate information but I just thought I would relay my experience this morning.

Love rugby played at amateur level for a lot of years then became season ticket holders at Wasps 2016/17. Always thought rugby was great for the family no trouble and great mixing with opposition fans. Bought into the rugby family that has been shattered now the way Worcester and Wasps have been left as postscripts. We are now like a lot of Wasps fans, I have had it with the premiership and England . Rugby family what a joke.

As somebody who lives in Wolverhampton and is a season ticket holder at Wasps along with the wife that would be a good idea. Same colours as well, also lots of grass roots rugby clubs in the area. :) :)
