Title: Zac Kibiridge
Post by: Neils on March 03, 2019, 10:24:59 AM
Rumoured by TRP to be interesting us. Falcons winger. Can't really say he has crossed my radar and wonder if he is playing today.

Yes he is.

I think if his contract is up a few teams will be after his signature. Maybe he has a release clause.
Radwan, Jonny Williams and a few other youngsters will also have a few people circling if Newcastle lose today.
Kibiridge Has been building nicely for a while, is having a good season and was fantastic last week, interested to watch him today.

He’s a real flyer who has personally scored 6(!) tries against Exeter this season.

I was trying to think who you meant. Zach Kibirige. Would have to watch him play a few matches. A quite slight build. Seems in the same mold as Marcus Watson. Would not be my choice of Wade replacement. Scoring tries is one thing, but a winger has to have a multi-faceted game these days, and I have seen no evidence of these:

Kick chase with successful capture.
Defensive tackling.
Chip over to run on to (Wadey was so good at this).
Defense of kick ball receipt.
Return high ball kick.

He does have a good step inside. Comes across more as a sevens type of player to me. I am far from convinced.

So very nearly ticked off the chip over box in this game!

I must say I agree that we haven’t seen enough of his wider game yet, but looking at his performance so far today I wouldn’t be upset if he joined

Kibirige looks pretty useful going forward, good attacking game from what I have seen thus far. He did drop/not have control for his almost second try. I haven't seen that much defence yet though.

He faded once Warriors had worked him out, not a great game though and looked like two teams too desperate for a win. Falcons comfortably the better side.

Not for me, as said, ...Watson mark 2 but i'd prefer Watson

Agree, he wouldn't be an upgrade on where we are today. I have been a critic of Watson's, if he can stay fit and play like he did, in what may become the infamous JPD'gate match, then we can see the season out with him at 14.

Watson hasn't been offered a contract renewal has he? He did well in the tiggers game but unfortunately that has been a very rare occurance

I thought Marcus played well in defence in the previous game against Sale. He kept his oppo winger on a tight rein. I think Josh, on the other wing, showed Solomona too much respect. I would like Marcus to stay.

He didn't look to impressive apart from his try. Would have to see more but not too much more on Saturday please.

I don't want to go on about Saturday either but I must point out that Marcus scored 2 tries.
