Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Playing and coaching staff rumours

Shugs,
Absolutely spot-on.

Our "skin in the game" is the emotional attachment we have for Wasps.
Doesn't matter to me whether it's the pre-professional Wasps, Dallaglio's Wasps, Launch's Wasps or new Wasps. They are all the same team to me, Wasps.

Could it be Sixways?

JF,
When I hear/read something unintelligible, I invariably reply with one of the following :

"Half past six",
"Do thank your mother for the rhubarb"
or
" and if that doesn't work, you can always poke it down with a stick"

The administrators have received an offer of £15.9 million for the stadium apparently.

Ashley trying to buy on the cheap again?

And I don't believe for one moment that the hotel is worth £40 million.

RossM,
Don't think it's the hotel. From what I remember trawling through Exeter Cheats' accounts,
the club gave Rowe a £14 million interest-free loan to enable him to build the hotel. So presumably it belongs to him, not the Cheats.

As I say, that's what I recall but, being of unsound mind and rickety, the above could be a load of used food.

I've still got the ticket for the first Wasps match I ever attended - 22 Feb 2004 - against NEC Harlequins. In the last minute, Oogie scored wide out on the right, Gizzy converted and we won by 1 point"!  I was hooked and bought a season ticket shortly thereafter.

The only visit I made to Aliens Park, as it was then, was the day of the St Valentine's massacre.

The only visit to Welford Road was the A League final which we also won.

Favourite match was the Euro Cup final against Tigers. Stunning display.

It seems that, if you paid for ST by debit card, the time limit for a chargeback claim is 120 days.

Rifleman Harris,
The £350k loss was of match-day revenue, not an overall loss. They'd save on avoiding match-day operating costs, which would be substantial.

VV,
You seem to be very well-informed. What makes you feel less hopeful now?

BiND,
I believe Heathen sometimes goes by train from High Wycombe to CBS. Maybe PM him?

I played for RGS, mainly 2nds and 3rds, in the late 50s and early 60s. (For the avoidance of doubt, that is the 1950s and not 1850s) Got my hand broken in one game but didn't feel anything (a v cold day) until it thawed out in the showers.
