Just read that Eddie said that was Billy’s best game in an England shirt since 2019!

Yikes

JVP with probably the worst half of rugby from 9 since recent prior effort of Ben Youngs and of course Danny Care’s last effort before he got hauled off.
I’ll give him a break but realistically it shows his selection is a naive choice. He’s only really in his second season at prem level and hasn’t had loads of minutes really over that time behind Youngs and Wigglesworth and has not played regularly in the top tier of Europe. A massive step up to play against the All Blacks and Aaron Smith.
If it wasn’t going to be Robson then Mitchell should probably be next in line but he’s obviously annoyed Eddie at some stage too after his earlier selections.

Let’s play a lock at 6 for the last two years and then let’s just change it out of no where

Can you tell us a bit about these lads? White is already named in our 23 for the Prem Cup v  Quins tomorrow night

Ricky (White) - not sure how he spells the name he is actually known by - is an English born Pacific Islander type. Design a PI #13 the way you would like, and he is that. Big, fast, intimidating. He has a lot to learn, he is young, but as keen as mustard. If I was his oppo, I wouldn't want to be. His oppo I mean. Like all PI peoples, a really nice guy to talk to as well.

White spent a lot of time smashing through midfields in his U18 days with Charlie Atkinson putting him through holes. Played a season last year at Moseley developing his skills at adult level and was due to be on loan in the championship this year.
Very raw and agree he has a lot to learn but great potential.

Asher Opoku is a TH not seen him play but just out of school last year and has come through our ranks, powerful TH and think he has a bit of a turn of pace too, thought highly of

Ma’asi White confirmed at Sale, as is Asher Opoku on deals until 2025 - great news for another two of the young lads

Ma'asi White to Sale
Hartley to the EAs

Good moves for them if they come off.
Both really have potential to be top premiership performers, especially Hartley, and as much as I’m trying, I can’t begrudge him wanting to explore an opportunity at Sarries if it arises.

Well, I have decided to watch it…

Japan not offering much at the moment.
Porter stripped of the ball in his first carry, sure that happened on his debut too.

Hoping the JvP Smith axis can start taking charge but sure due to our early scrum dominance we’re just going to use that to churn out penalties

Glad he’s got 4 locks in the 23 just in case….

I know we like to criticise Tuilagi but I’d rather have him in there than Porter. The last time Porter played outside Smith and Farrell his job was a dummy runner for an hour until he then dropped a few passes and fell off a few tackles. May, JVP and Simmonds bring some much needed pace but that’s counteracted by no zip on the bench at all, Jamie George is probably the quickest.

Good old Eddie!

Isn't Fisilau going to Chiefs?

Fisilau, Bell and Feyi-Waboso confirmed

Great news for those three, definite talents.

The article is the most sense Baxter has talked in months.

Archie McArthur to Glos academy.

Great news for him.
Hopefully some more of these academy guys will get picked up.

Really tough for them, they have no credit in the bank anymore, no history with any academy coaches, or time invested in them, every club most likely already has a similar player of their own they’ve already been working on since they were about 15 in all the key positions,
Plus they no longer count for home grown player credits anymore for anyone.

Bacon, Tunney and Hardwick already signed at Ampthill.

Fyn Brown looks like he’s getting game time at Moseley although they haven’t announced him officially.

You would think him, as well as the U20 lads like Bell, Maasi-White, Fisilau, Cripps and Dawkins would get a shot somewhere although backrow and back three are always fiercely contested at academy level.

Feyi-Waboso would be wanted back in Wales but his move to us was due to his medical degree originally so that may take priority,

I would hope Hartley would be seen as a real steal for somewhere out there

Read a few things on Jack turning down multiple Premiership offers to sign for Toulouse.

To be honest, Toulouse is that absolute dream isn’t it? What a place to go and play, even if it’s just until the end of this season!

Perhaps time for a super rugby format with regional based teams to play against the same in Ireland and Wales plus Glasgow and Edinburgh.
SA teams would have to go as that travel just isn’t sustainable.

Still room for European cup format and equally exciting is that there’d be room for a mitre cup/ITM cup format to include ‘proper clubs’ and can also include a number of championship clubs in this too.

The NZ model is a good one to follow in terms of money and sustainability too I think.
