He did fall out with them a bit when they reduced everyone's wages without any real consultation. Manu left but Genge (& Ford I think) signed but were not happy!
Guess this is their revenge :)

Would love him at Wasps but can't see it, he'll be back to Bristol or somewhere like sarries for the money!

The Saracens message board seemed convinced Genge was setting up a property portfolio in the home counties last week...

Initially, I thought it'd be mad for Bears to be courting Genge.  After all, they already have a big disparity between their highest-paid players and the rest.  He'll also likely be away with England a fair amount, as will Sinkler.  So you're without your first-choice props for a third of the season or so on top of that.

But I guess financially, with Afoa moving towards a player/coach role from next season he could work.

That's some go forward in big games; Genge, Thacker, Sinkler, Attwood, Hughes, Luatua, Semi and Piutau.  They're not short of ball carriers.

Wouldn’t want Genge here. For me West is a better prop. Bears scrum has been awful this year so I wouldn’t be surprised if they targeted him.

I'd have been more than happy to see Genge here, not as good a scrummager as West i reckon, but no slouch either. As a one two combo, it'd be brutal for the opposition, proper bomb squad stuff. Especially with the likes of Koch/JTA/Alo.

I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s something about both Genge and Sinkler that isn't quite the Wasps ethos that attracted me.

It it was only about building the best team we can afford I’d have them come in a shot.

Well he left Brizzle due to outside (criminal?) influences I believe so unless that situation has been overcome it looks like Saracens, Sale or Harlequins would be favourites although the first two would struggle with the salary cap limitations. If he doesn't want to move I suppose Sinners could find a place for him.

On BBC, gone to Bristol, accepting a significant pay cut according to Pat Lam (not that I'd trust his word after the "Afoa is/isn't injured" debacle), and quotes about being back in a community he has strong feelings for.

Well Daly, Billy, Loz and all the other EAs did, so why not?

Oh hang on!!

Why do they keep trying to tell us this. I’d say the chances of him moving for less money were akin to us having a full squad to pick from.

Pay cut? Pull the other one. As has been noted, that’s been claimed before. Making so much noise about it only adds to the suspicion.

Given the EAs have exhausted the property, joint venture and image right angles, I wonder what the latest wheeze is. Crypto anyone?

To be honest, now is the only time I'd believe it.

Reduced salary cap, marquee spot removed. All clubs need to reduce their wage bill.

If, for example, you're currently on £300k and your current club offer you a new contract at £200k, but someone else offers at £250k then it is a big pay cut, but also more than he was being offered to stay.

If the salary cap has reduced by nearly £1.5m, and suddenly at renewal time some players salaries which are currently only contributing 75% to the cap are going to be increased to 100%, there will be a lot of players being offered reduced salary deals to stay....... And some of them will leave

I suspect that programmes to help players develop careers post playing may be more attractive than anything else now the wages are dropping.

I've been developing a programme for helping grow a personal social media following for rugby players, but it's not something the current management at the club seem interested in exploring.
