If we can't sustain 13 teams, how could two leagues of 10 or 8 and 12 be sustainable with less games?

I'm a bit surprised they wouldn't test out 'central contracting' with Launch as well as Jack.  Joe might not be in the squad but is up there with the options.  Is a big lump, excellent in maul defence.  Has had issues with injuries, why not get him and Jack solely conditioned and focussed on England with no games in line for a while.

That's why. He is on the way out internationally, so why would he be part of the experiment?

No, I don't want to fight either to be honest.

I mean I was listening to Rob Delaney on the Today programme this morning talking about the death of his infant son from cancer, which does put this all into perspective.

But perspective is relative isn't it? And if you feel utter shit like I do about this all, that's ok too.

All of the staff are redundant. I can’t see how a club emerges at all. The vultures were only (inevitably) interested in the real estate and our only hope (Armstrong bid) was squashed by the other teams. There’s nothing to be rescued now.

This just isn't true. The rules of the competition we were in were clear. Administration = relegation and forfeit of P shares. It wasn't a situation the rest of the clubs decided to get together and apply to us.

We made ourselves a hostage to fortune then. And like not being able to repay the loan, there's a bit of a pattern.

Seems those in charge gambled and lost. Thems the breaks.

So that's it. No Championship rebuild. No fight back. No last hurrah, no last chance to cheer on the boys.

I went to that last game at AP, when we were staring relegation and winding up in the face. At least we had a chance to fight.

30 years. Happy memories with my family. Screaming at tvs near and far watching games I couldn't go to in person. And this is it. Feckin hell.

Exactly. Our professional club is, sadly (and to an extent I'm still not sure I've personally come to terms with), dead. Like professional London Scottish, Richmond etc went to the wall and the current versions are the amateur rebuilds.

There's a lot of talk about rescue packages and bridging loans, but why throw good money after what is quite literally bad? Even if we were desperately unlucky it's undeniable that the business as a whole has been poorly managed for years. I just can't get over the unpaid tax invoice - in what world do advisers or business not know to make sure the HMRC get first crack at your money? Bloody amateur. And here we are.

Doesn't make it any easier to take. And I'm sure if it was another club dropping into the abyss we'd be talking about nabbing P shares too - if only for a desperate injection of cash.

The whole thing is just a shit show. But I can't see us as innocent victims.

Hard to see anything being salvaged from this.

Imagine it will be a cold outline of the legal processes as terminated employees.

Bloody awful day really.

I just can't see that the Council are going to provide a financial rescue package. The very definition of throwing good money after bad.

Perhaps the money from the council is to allow us to stave off administration and retain the P share in order for a deal to go through. And that any loan would literally be for several days only?

But Armstrong's bid is dependent on us going into administration to write off the debt

The Council did put an offer in a decade ago to basically stop Sisu driving the value of the stadium down and buying it at massively deflated price.

But as someone said above, throwing good money after bad like this is political suicide. And if we avoid administration, there's no Armstrong takeover.
