Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Post Match Transcript.

The format of the Premiership Cup always confuses me. We have Saints, Sarries and Sale in our group and yet next week we are playing Wuss?

Are there return fixtures later in the season (I can't see any ) or is the next stage the semis which I'm presuming is 3 group winners plus the best runner up (if so we need a 5 pointer enxt eek-end to have any chance of progressing)
3 groups of 4 played as a round robin, plus a "derby" game against a team from a different pool(we get Wuss) so that each team gets two home and two away games. No return games. Straight on then to semi finals. Seems like a fudge to give equal home and away games and fit into the weekends available.

Morning all. Not expecting anything from today or necessarily wanting much other than no injuries and a pipe opener for a few.
+1. I'll give BBC Cov a try and hope it's better than a commentary I listened to from Sale a few years ago. The commentators seemed to be football commentators, who knew very little about rugby in general, let alone the laws, and had not taken the trouble to learn the players names (apart from LBND). So it was Wasps have got the ball and err a wasps player is err running up the field...and now Sale have the ball....etc.

Agree with WWW, unless Sarries are found guilty on the salary cap investigation, when even  with a points handicap they will also likely be thrown into the chasing group, unless they also have to divest players to negate an overspend. Wasn't the result due to be announced before the premiership season?

Mrs FW's card arrived last week, without her clubhouse pass. One phone call later and we expected it to be included with my card, as members with add-ons packs were to follow. My pack turned up today, you guessed it, with just one pass and no instructions re how to change reg'n number on line (a facility promised for this year) for car park C. One phone call to the ticket office has it sorted, hopefully- the second pass promised by first class post, and my alternative car reg'n added so that I can use either vehicle.
Good to see Wasps are keeping up the tradition - in  15 years as an STH, only once ( last year) have STs turned up without any hassle and in good time for the first game.

Offy site link into Senior Academy shows Umanga's photo.
Yet the individual detail show others name and photo, apart from Umanga iwho is named but photo is greyed out.
Should we read anything into this, or has it been the case for a while?

I suspect that any club openly fielding weakened teams would quickly find themselves disciplined for damaging the integrity of the league. Meanwhile Sarries continue un challenged
But isnt that what Sarries did v Worcester? And Gloucester too in the ultimate round? Neither has been even questioned AFIK.

Mark my words, the   "joys" of Newport await!

As someone who had an ex partner from not far off, "Joy" and Newport were rarely found in the same thought or sentence...
My main memory ofNewport is , when living in Cardiff, Mrs FW and I went there to see The Exorcist (not Joy S, but the film) due to the film being banned in Cardiff ( by the councilors who hadn't seen it!). I can fully understand why the nearest thing to a bypass, the M4, gets clogged up with people avoiding Newport. Of course it all in jest as it may have changed, and I'd give Rodney Parade a try before judging.
Oh yes, the only joy in Newport is the way to Cardiff.

Yep - Parkway to Cardiff is quite rapid!
