Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Wasps update February 2024

As a Kent resident my guess is the Dartford stadium until a new one is built.

So this is wild speculation but, Sevenoaks DC also approved a new training ground for Millwall FC in 2022 to be sited not far from the site of the proposed new Wasps stadium.

Millwall?s ground  (the Den)is adjacent to the main railway line between Sevenoaks and London.

It really depends on their immediate ambitions, but the Den holds circa 20000 whereas the Dartford stadium only holds circa 4000, most of them standing, Bromley?s ground, not much more.

I would think they?d want something bigger so is it much of a leap to suggest it might be the Den?

I live in Sevenoaks so can?t quite believe this? trying not to get TOO excited 😛
In terms of transport links as well as those mentioned, Ebbsfleet is about 15 minutes away as is Sevenoaks which has fast trains into London.
Also that bit of the M25 is generally much better on a weekend than weekday.
I wonder how long this has been going on? ?5 was reportedly living in a Sevenoaks village not that long ago (never spotted him myself)

One reason why we haven?t seen any announcements or info may be that they have not hired any marketing resource yet, which would be sensible until they got the green light from the RFU.
Based on Pudsey?s recent tweet he was being taught ground-care which suggests they were trying to be as economical as possible, asking their one employee to cover more than he would have been expected to as Wasps kit-man.
Messaging is one thing you don?t want to get wrong in this space or current climate - saying nothing is better than getting it wrong in my book.

Not on grass - no - in the big hall. Where do the netballers play?

Having just won Paralympic gold in the wheelchair rugby, wouldn’t it be great if Wasps added a team to their stable of sports? I’d happily pay to watch a Wasps team perhaps playing before or after the 15-man game. I’m not sure what the league situation is in the UK though…

Phew! I said we’d win 3 out of the last 4 even if I thought it would be a different 3.  Need to back it up again next weekend but it’s good to be looking forward to a home game for once. Well done lads!

Nor me. When he broke into the senior squad, Cips frequently played fullback and if my memory serves me correctly, he also appeared there for England more recently (under Eddie though, so that could mean anything). Alex Goode seems to move between the 2 positions as well.

Interim implies he’s coming back, at least in some capacity. The abruptness of it may suggest that the club itself wasn’t aware until yesterday and perhaps it’s under doctors orders?  Revealing personal details is entirely up to Dai and maybe he himself is only just coming to terms with whatever it is and is not ready to provide more detail.  Let’s let him get on with it, wish him well and get behind Lee until we hear otherwise.

Little Pots,

Reckon our targets are LI Tigers and Wuss, not a chance we'll beat Sarries. Out of the 3 winnable games I would say we'll win 1 or 2, but should win 3.

Those are my 3.  Glass half full this evening- and why not? 😉

Real mixed feelings about today. On paper, if you were a neutral and hadn’t watched the game, you’d look at that scoreline and say that Saints had a narrow escape. They’re second in the league and were taken to the edge by strugglers Wasps. It’s our pedigree that makes us so disappointed...

Anyway, positives: not giving up and demonstrating some attacking flair. Negatives: feels like a missed opportunity. Balance: 2 points I didn’t expect us to get.

Next 4 (prem) matches are key - and I think we’ll win 3 of them

He was looking exciting before his red card.

I hope he gets his chance again soon - maybe during the European games - would be a shame if he doesn’t.
